I have never left a review before, but my experience at Route 67 Diner was so unacceptable that I feel I have to.
Our server, Benji, accidentally spilled two full bottles of another groups Pepsi all over our table and on us. Accidents happen, and we were all laughing at first — but the way the situation was handled after was completely unprofessional. There was no apology, no proper assistance with clean-up (one guy came with a mop and barely cleaned up and gave us no napkins), and no manager involvement whatsoever. We were left to clean everything ourselves while the staff stood around.
I am only two weeks out of foot surgery, and the Pepsi spilled all over my foot, boot, cast, and crutches. I was specifically told I cannot get my foot wet at all. Not only was this extremely concerning for my health, but my crutches, boot, and cast were left ruined and sticky. On top of that, there were pools of Pepsi all over the floor, which made it unsafe for me (on crutches) and for every other guest walking around.
When the check came, there was no discount or compensation offered (as someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for 8 years, I know this is standard practice in situations like this). A manager never came over to check in, which made the experience even worse.
To make matters worse, when I got up to leave, I slipped on the uncleared Pepsi spill and my crutches got wet again. And while all this was happening, the staff was laughing at us instead of helping. It wasn’t until we called them out on how dangerous this was that anyone decided to step in.
This was not only disappointing but also dangerous and negligent. Based on this experience, I am not sure I will not be returning to Route 67 Diner, and I truly hope management takes this as a wake-up call to teach their employees to treat customers with more care and...
Read moreCalled in a take out order last night. Ordered chicken cutlet melt and specified chicken cutlet, melted American cheese on white toast with French fries well done. Also ordered a turkey club with fries well done in a separate bag. My boyfriend went to go pick it up and came home extremely angry , apparently another person with the same name as his also called in an order and they messed up the two orders, resulting in my boyfriend waiting over a half hour for our food to be recooked. Once the food was given he checked before he left. One of the fries had cheese on it, he told them we did not order cheese fries (they took them back , scraped off the cheese and actually gave us back those same fries.) when he got home my order was completely messed up. It had coleslaw, lettuce and tomato and mayo on it. I called back to let them know they made a mistake and when I tell you I had to explain to the person on the phone what I wanted, I had to explain to her over 6 times. “All I want is white toast with chicken cutlet and melted American cheese- nothing more) she for some reason could not understand and again asked me 6 times what is it that I ordered. Never said Sorry. Then said ok well what do you want to do, do you want to come back and get a new one or I can take your number down and next time you come you can get it for free. I explained no, it’s dinner time and I’m starving I need my dinner now. Boyfriend went back to pick it up. Again not one person apologized, never offered a refund especially for having to drive there twice at this point. And to end all of this, it tasted Awful. It was cold with a piece of cold American cheese. Toast was burnt, and chicken was extremely dry. Not happy...
Read moreOrdered 2 take out sandwiches. 1 chicken panni & 1 corn beef & fries. I also asked to change the order while ording to sweet potato fries. While the diner had my phone number. They waited for me to arrive the to surprise me with the status of No CornBeef.. sold out!! I choose again, Pastami... I waited 10 more minutes While the chicken and fries sat on a table . When I got home with the meals I found both the pastrami & Chicken sandwiches to have soaking wet bread on both sandwiches. Not a pleasure to eat. The fries were also wet & soagy. Like fresh boiled spaghetti. Also they did not change the std fries for sweet potato fries. So, we got charged for two orders of soaking wet fries. Both white & sweet potatoes. And a pie that was broken into nany pieces. Beware, Rt 67 does not give you itemized receipts. You will will have to open every Styrofoam container to check for contents. I got home and began to eat the wet food. Disgusted by the wet bread and fries. We threw the meals in the garbage. We had fresh peanut butter and jelly and lost $40.00. The ironic send off I got as they said Goodbye was enjoy your meal. We did but it wasn't theirs. A tip for all you would be restaurateurs, Make a couple of small holes in the Styrofoam covers to allow moisture to escape. Most heat will remain. My food had been actually rained...
