Valley Coin in Seymour CT ? I have to GIVE THEM 4-5 stars, NEVER HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE THERE. It is a jewel in the rough, old school, new school coin shop. I visit well over 20/25 varied coin shops in the Northeast monthly. I ROAM daily too weekly. Over many years & into this year, which now is what?, July of 2024, still roaming since 1978. I visit this shop several times yearly, maybe 10-15 times yearly.. Bullion & Coins are my #bread&butter side hustle! I roam & "pic" in my "riding grounds" & "stomping grounds" ! In the last 5 years, as I'm retired, I "pic" Mon-Sat & visit 7-15 LCSs (local coin stores) in those travels. I too FREQUENT MANY other LCS's, Thrifts, Antique stores, Co-ops, Fleas, Tags, etc etc, Also I transact many private deals as I have a great network of associates, contacts & clients. Weekly on my rides & thru Email, to phone calls I buy & sell NUMI'S & BULLION. Sadly in the moment, many folks in 2024 are needing CASH in these harder times financially with INFLATION. This CT COIN shop offers all one need's to buy, sell or trade or seek new for your collections or to sell to generate CASH !! . The owner is almost always there too, which is nice. YOU should make an EFFORT with INTENT to visit this LOCAL COIN STORE! IMO, it is well worth your time & SUPPORT of small business. TY, to the folks...
Read moreI honestly and absolutely HIGHLY recommend Valley Coins of Seymour!! A place to buy and/or sell treasures. Here’s why…
Ed, the owner, is such an awesome individual who values his business and anyone who walks through his doors. He spent hours looking at each coin, piece of jewelry, and valuables I had. His knowledge is immensible and even shares it AND you can tell he enjoys explaining and teaching. I didn’t feel rushed, pressured, or insecure which is pretty unusual when you’re trying to sell your goods at a shop. I’ve never had a genuine experience like this. The knowledge and kindness I experienced in this shop is a rarity nowadays. Ed really made me feel comfortable and valued as a customer. I told him I was thinking about selling my entire collection. He suggested to call him and schedule an appointment when I was ready so we’d have time without interruptions! C’mon!?! Who does that?!?? Lol. Amazing.
I feel safe to say that I received a great fair deal and gained a friend after leaving Valley Coins of Seymour. Thank you Ed. I have thoroughly enjoyed our conversations and I appreciate you. You’ve worked so hard to be where you are today and you’re an inspiration!
Highly recommended people!! Go check out some treasures or bring your treasures for an unforgettable experience! I promise, you...
Read moreI wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at Valley Coin of Seymour owned by Ed. If you're in the area and have an interest in coins, precious medals, and / or historical items, I highly recommend stopping by.
From the moment I entered the shop, I was impressed by the atmosphere and the variety of coins on display. Ed greeted me warmly and immediately made me feel welcome. His expertise in numismatics is evident, and his extensive knowledge truly sets him apart in this field.
What stood out most to me was Ed's willingness to help. I brought in my entire coin collection for evaluation, and he graciously took the time to go through each piece with me. Ed provided detailed insights into the history, value, and significance of several coins, all without charging me for his time. At no point did he try to convince me to sell him any of my collection. It's rare to find someone so committed to sharing their knowledge and passion for the hobby.
Overall, my experience at Valley Coin of Seymour was exceptional, thanks to Ed's helpfulness and dedication. If you're considering visiting a local coin shop, you won't be...
