I have been a long time customer of Aiello’s in Squirrel Hill, going back to when Giuseppe opened the shop and this was my first visit to the North location. I was not disappointed. I stopped to get a pizza before going to watch the Super Bowl with friends. There was plenty of room to park in the parking lot. As I entered, I noticed the brightly lit dining room with plenty of seating available. I had called ahead, and my pizza was ready on my arrival. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this location accepted credit cards, because the Squirrel Hill location is cash only. I paid for the pizza and proceeded to my friends’ house. The pizza itself was pretty much identical to what is served in Squirrel Hill. There was plenty of red sauce, but not overpowering. With just the right amount of cheese and pepperoni as well. The consistency of the dough was as expected, not chewy, but also not overdone. Overall, the taste was exactly the same as I was used to from Squirrel Hill. Read moreAiello’s Pizza in Shaler, right outside of Glenshaw, is definitely a place worth checking out! I walked in and was immediately hit with the incredible smell of freshly made pizza and food—instantly making me even hungrier. I was so excited to dig in that I forgot to snap pictures of the re-done interior of the old Pizza Rita’s building. They’ve done a nice job updating the space, giving it a fresh, clean feel while keeping that cozy, local pizza shop vibe.
I went for the steak salad with fries on top and their house Italian dressing, and I wasn’t disappointed. Everything was super fresh, and the steak was cooked perfectly. The fries added a nice crunch and flavor, and the house dressing pulled it all together. Definitely one of the better steak salads I’ve had in a while.
I’ll definitely be heading back, not just for the pizza but to try more of their menu. Great atmosphere, great food—it’s a...
Read moreExcellent pizza! Finally got to try this place and I was not disappointed. Had a large traditional pizza with pepperoni, ham, spinach, tomato and roasted peppers.
Spinach is a great test on pizza because it's really easy to burn. The spinach at Aiello's was cooked perfectly, unlike most other places in the area.
The sauce really brings something extra to the table and the crust is exceptionally good. I could easily overeat a pizza this good lol.
Only downside, and this is probably because of how many toppings we got, is that I had to knife and fork it because the undercarriage was too floppy.
Even so, this was still the most solid traditional pizza I've had in the area. I will definitely be...
