1st Time: HATED IT!!! (Within the first month of the grand opening) I am a “wing“ guy! I love my wings! First time I had their wings… They were the worst restaurant wings I’d ever had. And then I saw how much they cost… I don’t know how they do it! Way overpriced ! I swore and vowed to never return…
2nd TIME - WOW, LOVED IT (I know, but I was in a weakened state from hunger and let my “principal & moral” guard down) - my niece came over for “Loki Wednesday“ to enjoy the fourth episode of Marvels marvelous 3rd installment of the MCU’s storyline set in a “cinema quality”series! She had brought some food over. There was a half eaten chicken sandwich left by the time it was over and she told me I could have it. I had no idea where it was from. It was AMAZING!! Until that point, I was all about “Chick-fil-A‘s“ chicken sandwiches. This thing was fantastic. I asked her where she got it and she told me it was Zaxby’s! First I laughed, and then I cried! I decided I would practice forgiveness after that. That was June 30!
3rd, 4th, 5,6,7th... NEVER AGAIN! Since then… I have literally been by there 7 times... ((There is a woman or someone that left a review pretty close to this one that sounded ridiculous when they said they’ve been there six times and it was closed every time. I know it sounds ridiculous… But BELIEVE it)) I went there for Black widow Friday, I went there on the Fourth of July, I was there the day after the Fourth of July, I was there several other days in between... every time between the hours of 6 and 9 PM. CLOSED every single time. Website says they’re open, several times the lights were even on on the signs, but NOPE! The business management flunkies just stick cones across the drive-through menu, and at the window... no signs explaining anything. I haven’t seen or heard anything official that they’ve put out except for what I’ve read from some of the reviews about them having a hard time finding help. Well that’s when the owners need to step in and get their hands greasy. RIDICULOUSLY INCOMPETENT MANAGEMENT: MUST BE A FRACHISE LOCATION! Anytime you have a brand, that is able to succeed with a product, and develop into a model and grow into a successful chain, and that starts to flop... that means someone has made a very poor management choice. Good Riddance to Zaxby’s and Hardee in Shallotte, that’s two restaurants that need to hit the road and stop taking up valuable space where we could have a steak ‘n Shake and a red Robin! Thank God my Chick-fil-A will be open in my backyard...

This particular location has repeated the same poor food preparation since Covid and yes, I understand all the workers problems with Covid but it's past time to stop making excuses.
Yesterday I ordered a zax snack and a nibbles meal with an extra nibbler with ranch sauce. I get home and nope, no nibblers MEAL, but just nibblers. Sadly, the fries were once again undercooked and that's a norm. I'd say more than half the time, the fries are undercooked. Hint, there os a timer on the fryer...STOP PULLING THEM OUT 3O SECONDS EARLIER...IDC HOW BUSY YOU ARE. Lastly, no ranch was included.
I have left any reviews about this place until today as I have expressed my disappointment with management but it seems nothing is ever corrected. If I literally have to get my food and inspect it beside driving off to ensure it's correct, then you don't need me and I don't need you.
I hear all the excuses of this and that, but at some point you have to stop making excuses and concentrate on exemplary customer service a d food delivery. As long as you 'push' orders this location will never excel.

Read morePlaced an order on the app and it said my order would be ready in 12 minutes. Arrived at Zaxby’s and waited 45 minutes. The young male who seemed in charge was very RUDE and the female behind the counter said she needed to go in to the back because there was too many people in there. The employee told a man at the counter to not get an attitude when all the man said was “how much longer do you think it will be, I’ve been waiting 30 minutes” That man was not being mean and asked politely only to get snapped at. The place was not very busy. Only the drive thru was being taken care of. (Which was not backed up) One employee said they needed to lock the door to quit letting people in. It was not busy and they couldn’t even handle one order of Wings and Things and a kids meal for me. I won’t be back.
UPDATE - got home and the order was wrong! My fault for not checking at the restaurant but I was so frustrated I took what they gave me and left. Definitely won’t be back now. I couldn’t even eat...
