WhatNot Shoppe Cafe — Restaurant in Shamokin

Ok, I was really! Looking forward to visiting this place. Now I’m INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED!!! I went with a friend for the first time on Sunday Feb. 9th with a plan to have a group of us. Due to the weather, it ended up just being the two of us. I checked their hours on their google page here and it read that they’re open till 2pm. We both drove 40min.’s only to find out that they’re closed for vacation (sign in window). Of course we were disappointed. We peeked inside and thought it was soo cute. We’ll just have to try again another time.

We were however upset of course that their hours didn’t reflect this on their google page. I also checked their FB page (which they have listed as their website here) to look for their hours and couldn’t find them anywhere or a post stating that they are closed for vacation. Very Disappointing and frustrating for someone who really wanted to visit your Cafe, planned a group gathering AND drove 40min to get there!

So I decided to call them today (while they’re supposedly open) to politely suggest they Update their internet hours of operation especially if closed for a certain period of time so people who don’t know, know! I asked to speak with a manager or owner and before I could say another word, the man that answered the phone just hung up on me. I was in disbelief. WTF All I said was “hello, is there a manager or owner I could speak with?” So I called again and it just rang off the hook.

I wanted to schedule another trip there with a group. Apparently that’s NOT happening.

VERY DISAPPOINTED with the way they do & run their Shoppe. It’s just disconcerting and unfortunate. No one should run a business that doesn’t know how to...

The WhatNot Shoppe Cafe On 700 N Shamokin St, In Shamokin, PA 17872 Always Such Good Foods And Drink At For Breakfast Or Lunch As I Ate Where Foods /Drinks Are Truly A Must When Eatting There Of A Such Tasty Homemade Waffle Sandwich With PB&J And Yes Marshmallow Smacked In The Middle Of It With A Side Of Chips With Homemade Iced Carmel Latte And Homemade Peace Ice Tea To Now Offering Hand Made Bubble Tea Smoothie That Is Just So Refreshing To A Very Tasty Fresh Fruit Parfait With Fresh Honey And Oats And Creamy Yogurt As I'm Like Ohh Yeahh When Gotta Try Some Of There Homemade Bananas Foster French Toast Where Just Amazing MMM As This Place Is Truly A Must Try In The Whole Area With Friendly Staff And Owners As Speedy Service And Very Clean Place Then You Sure Love This Then Cause Foods And Drinks Are Homemade Where With Owner Cynthia Carpenter, Her Family Since Thy WhatNot Shoppe Cafe Also Coffee And tea, Bracelets, Stuffed Animals, As Well As Other Home Decor For Sale Or Just On Display Only When This Is A Christian Run Business As Give Back To Our Area With Love Of Jesus Christ Give Unto Us In World As Sometimes They Will Even Have Live Acoustic Guitar Music By John Klokis Or Other ! Wife and I had mentioned a few times about going for breakfast so this morning we did just that. We were pleasantly surprised that walking in, the interior was more like an antique store than a dinner or restaurant. After we ordered we walked around looking at the items and found that almost everything was for sale. Once our order was ready and we sat down to eat we just looked at each other like WOW. The portion was like the amount Mom would put on your plate. The pancakes are made from scratch, not out of a box. The eggs were perfect and the meat portion was huge. It's been a long time since I've had a breakfast like that but I can assure you it will be a shorter time before the next one. My wife and I go for breakfast every Saturday and we will certainly become frequent customers of the Whatnot Cafe. I highly recommend this Cafe!
