Dollar General — Local services in Shamokin

This store is much bigger and cleaner than the old dollar general was. However the customer service at this new one is awful! I have asked employees many times for help only to have them look at me like I was crazy! Really, like they have no idea where that would even be in the store let alone if they have it or not. Then you go to check out and the new registers they have do not show items scanning from the customers view. The receipt is only a total amount due and that is all why? So I can't see each item that I bought and the price of it? That is ridiculous. I'm sure everyone that goes into a store wants to see what they have been charged for. Also if it was on sale make sure the sale price is what you have been charged. Every time I go into this location and get to the register the employee standing there looks like they are miserable. Never a hello or anything of nature, not even a smile. Maybe being able to smile and say hello should be a requirement for a job in customer...

No. Don't go. If you enjoy parents that don't parent their children and dodging kiddie pools collecting water from leaking roofs, and squeezing around carts left in isles from employees filled with merchandise to stock later on in the day, and mile long check out lines, and having to ask for laxatives and pregnancy tests since they need to be kept behind the cash register only because they were being stolen so much. Come to this great dollar general. It's honestly not the store. I think it's the location. Half the town doesn't drive so. All the locals that don't walk on down and ....bam!! Free for all. Free child care . mad dash on laxatives and pregnancy tests. And every one wants to pay for their stuff at the same time ( except for the laxatives and pregnancy tests shoved down their pants). Just go to like rite aid...

Quick n Easy... Good Prices.... Can get into there's Store get what you want But, most of the time there are long lines. Some people just walk right out, which is not fair to the patrons. Because most of the younger people leave their stuff on the floor, for the Cashiers or Managers to pick up and the Elderly do not see the stuff on the Floor n I have witnessed a Elderly Lady almost fall, a teenager was able to catch her.

Both lines should be open more...w/more Cashiers.... SO THEY DO NOT HAVE THESE PROBLEMS, OF PEOPLE LEAVING THEIR STUFF ON THE FLOOR AND POSSIBLY SOMEONE NOT SEEING IT AND FALLING. Someone could get really hurt, especially if no one can catch them n they HIT their HEAD or BREAK a BONE...
