If you want to experience the worst customer service and horrid food experience, stop by the Dairy Queen in Worthington Ohio on High Street. My fiancé and I stopped by for a late afternoon meal on Monday, June 13, 2022. My fiancé ordered chicken tenders with onion rings. Before I ordered, I asked if they offered foot long hotdogs, as this is something that is offered at countless other Dairy Queen locations. The reply began with the cashier looking back at me with a deer caught in the headlights on his face. He turns to two female employees who have looks on their faces seaming like they were just put on trial in a federal court. The three mumble and reply “no” to the question. I then order the hotdog meal with fries. I ask, do you offer coleslaw on your hotdogs? Again, the “I don’t know how to answer that look” shows up on all three of them. They all three start looking amongst each other like the Three Stooges and one of the females replies, “No, but we do have lettuce.” That was not the question. I replied that chili, ketchup and mustard will do. The cashier rings me up and never said the total and fails to give or even offer a receipt. It was $16.76! He never makes eye contact. We wait 15-20 minutes, which is way too long, they give us our order in a bag. We go out to the tables outside to eat. My fiancé’s order is fine, but mine… no. First, there were no fries. Then the other nsult of a hotdog was included. It looked like it had been cooked hours earlier and over processed under a heat lamp. Then, there was cheese sprinkled all over it. There was no chili, there was also no ketchup or mustard. Not even packets where I could place it on myself. I was VERY upset and dissatisfied. I wanted to go and complain but my fiancé talked me out of it. She said that my face was so red as a result of the horrible experience. The customer service was clearly not up to par with what would be expected even at the lowest level. It was the antithesis of customer service or satisfaction. I will NEVER make use of this location again. It is either horrible training, horrible...
Read moreI recently [2-14-2023] walked past the Dairy Queen at 920 High St. in the "Old Worthington" neighborhood of Columbus.
Moments earlier, I had eaten at a different restaurant across the street so I had not considered eating there; however, I had seen the opportunity for a beautiful nighttime photograph of that Dairy Queen.
So I briefly stopped, took several nighttime photographs, and then continued to my next destination.
For many years, I had been an active member of the Columbus Chapter of American Youth Hostels, a bicycling group that is now known as Columbus Outdoor Pursuits.
Also for many years, that bicycling group would often begin its "group rides" [if those rides had been heading towards Delaware County] at the "Worthington Dairy Queen."
While never exactly at the "northern edge" of Worthington, it would not have taken very much bicycling – back then -- towards the north from the "Worthington Dairy Queen" -- for those bicycle riders to reach "open country."
There is now very little "open county" in southern Delaware County so I cannot imagine that that bicycling group now begins and ends its rides at the "Worthington Dairy Queen."
I am glad that I have now visited the "Worthington Dairy Queen" for...
Read moreNo amount of stars could possibly convey how awesome this Dairy Queen was to our family.
My mom grew up going to this Dairy Queen as a youngster and really wanted to work there as a teen - but alas, it wasn't meant to be. When I heard her discussing that "failed dream" recently, I hatched a concept for her 72nd birthday: Ask the Dairy Queen if my mom could "work" there for a spell as an honorary employee.
Much to my surprise, owner Ron and his amazing team at the DQ leapt at the opportunity. On extremely short notice, they welcomed my unruly family of nine, gifted my mom a t-shirt and name tag, let her work the Blizzard machine, made her a cupcake version of an ice cream cake... it's the happiest I've ever seen my mom. Memories and laughter for life. She legitimately couldn't sleep for the next week because she was so excited about the experience.
Ron and his team proved to be purveyors of pure joy. They went above and beyond "above and beyond." We cannot thank...
