Old Mill used to be an amazing place to eat! The food was good and the servings plenty with good service! But not so much anymore. My Sundays usually consist of relaxing at home and sometimes ordering brunch to go since I work with the public all week and sometimes just need a day to hermit out in the house wirh no makeup on and recharge. We have given Old Mill plenty of chances as we understand that things happen! However just the last few times to mention... *When calling in an order you don't actually call the restaurant, you call someone else who then sends the order to the restaurant via cell phone. *Showed up to pick our food up and they gave it away to another customer who was picking up, she was returning it as we were trying to find out where our food went so had to wait another 30 minutes for our food to be remade. ( oops, mistakes happen, can be forgiven) *Showed up another time and they didn't have our order at all so had to wait once again for them to take the order and then make the food (on a day I'm relaxing at home and expecting to only run in to pick something up, not hang out in a busy crowded small restaurant, the whole purpose of calling in) *Another time went to grab food, once again the order never came through their cell phone or they never seen it to give to the cook, so again confirmed the order, reminding them how the eggs were ordered. Waited again. Finally got the food. Eggs incorrect, order incorrect. A simple 10 minute trip to grab breakfast turned into an hour long wait for incorrect food. These are just the last few times....all forgivable mistakes as these things sometimes happen. However it has happened everytime we have ordered. Going in to sit in the restaurant may be better. Longer wait times than usual but good food does take time. Although the food and portions are not what they once were. We have...

We came here for a quick bite after our very small covid-friendly wedding. We sat outside and it was a bit hot at first but tolerable because as it was evening, it cooled down quickly enough to be comfortable. The food was AMAZING. All the smoked meats (side ribs, sausage, tri tip) that we tried were to die for and the all the sides were on point (coleslaw, dirty rice, beans, and potato salad) especially the baked beans!! Also, the corn bread was perfection, especially when hot. The salad wasn't very interesting though. My daughter had breakfast and her egg was cooked perfectly to order and her side of fruit was fresh and tasty. The decor is also cozy and welcoming and very fitting of their theme.

I toom away one star taken because we had to wait for our food for a long time. I think about an hour and a half, definitely over an hour. We did have a largish party (8 people, including children two of whom did not order) and we did come in a little late, but it was still really rough to have to wait so long without even their simple salad to tide us over. I think the rest of our group wanted to leave after the hour mark but I personally am glad we stayed since it was so delicious. Its too bad that they took so long to bring our food. They don't have too many tables so they must have issues of some sort in the back getting things out quickly or it could just be their recipes take awhile. So, if you don't mind waiting and hanging out drinking a beer while you wait, the food will be...

Looking at the menu online I was excited to eat there. I tried calling my order in as I was on my hour lunch break and work about 7 minutes away, and wanted to give them time to get started, but they didn't answer, so I reluctantly drove there, to find 7 people in the restaurant, the worker asked if he could help me, I said I wanted food to go, and i tried calling but nobody answered. His response was I'm busy. With 7 people seated ? 1 was done eating, 3 people were waiting for their 4th person, and 3 people got their food 5 minutes after I got there. He was just being lazy, so he told me it will be 15 to 20 minutes, great, instead of taking my order over the phone and only having to wait 5 minutes, now I get to wait 20 and waste a good portion of my lunch hour waiting on food. I ordered the blackened salmon salad, the salmon was the tiniest piece of fish ever, and way over cooked, it was literally almost jerky. In order to get the meat off of the skin, I had to use both hands to pick it off, the fork wasnt doing the job. After eating this sad excuse of a salad, I was still hungry and very unsatisfied. Not sure if they had a bad day or what, I will give them another try, if they dont answer the phone next...

Update: 9/3/22 If you are looking for a tasty vegan breakfast I recommend the Country Potatoes, mushrooms, Bell's and onion's with Avocado. It just keeps getting tastier. The owner is the best cook! Vegan Accommodations! AA++ I love Old Mill and I take my family all the time, however, recent health issues have me on a vegan diet and I was concerned there would be little for me to eat at this place known for its mouth watering brisket and smoked meats. Jonathan, the cook, said NO PROBLEM and whipped up a DELICIOUS mix of home fries, with bells, onions, spinach, squash, broccoli and avocado. IT WAS DELICIOUS - Reasonably priced and very filling. This is now on the secret menu - just ask for Jonathan's Special! They put the recipie on the wall in the kitchen so anyone cooking knows what it is! Way to go Old Mill!

My wife and I stopped here for lunch on the way to Shasta Mountain. I do my own smoking so had to try a little! My wife ordered a chicken salad dish but I went for tri tip and eggs with hashbrowns. I ordered the biscuit and gravy as my side. Really friendly server and the cooks looked pretty happy as well. Food came out and - wow, big helpings. The tri tips were perfectly cooked with a nice smokiness. Hashbrowns were crispy and hot. Eggs, well they were eggs ;-) cooked the way I ordered - over easy. The biscuit was large! Nicely browned, crumbly and chewy soft on the inside. The gravy was rich and peppery. They went great together! Overall, great, tasty and filling meal. I'll be coming back for dinner and some hopefully fine smoked meats!

I love me some ribs! I came here thinking that I could have some baby back ribs on a Saturday afternoon, but was very disappointed when they came back and said they didn't have any ready. What kind of smokehouse doesn't have baby back ribs ready for their customers on a Saturday at around 1? They even have a pig on a shirt they sell as a mascot. The ribs I had weren't good, my wife's were fatty. I make better ones. As for the service it was polite, but we had a medium wait time. The food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic. The side dishes were okay, the salad was above par. I would say if you want some ribs maybe call in advance, get take out and go to the dam and have a picnic.
