This place is crazy cheap for what it offers. Please do your part to keep a healthy, fresh seafood restaurant aloft in Shawnee, because we need some variety!
It is not Mexican, nor is it straight seafood. Ceviche (diced seafood) is just the start. Baja style seafood: it's healthy. It's AFFORDABLE. It's delicious! 4 different sauce styles, so you can pick your favorite or mix it up. Think about eating sushi-you're dropping $100 for 2. Here, it's $40. It's a cheaper Jarocho, if you've been there. Not quite as good, but lot better than 90% of the other seafood places throughout the metro.
They also have cajun style boils, which I haven't tried yet. I DO know that they boil everything separately, so the potatoes aren't hard while the shrimp is rubber.
I tried shrimp, fish, and octopus, but if you have a land based protein eater, they have steak and chicken, too.
It's a little loud and bright, but I was told a lot a people order and take home. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but I can see it being too much for some. Full bar, lots of tequila, with Mexican beers. Bartender was friendly, and customers were all happy. A couple of birthday parties, which would lead me to believe that to some, this is their...
Read moreFirst experience…staff was friendly, place looked nice (a big change from the old Garrett’s that we loved)…ordered an appetizer that wasn’t anything spectacular. And then ordered two ceviche tostadas, one shrimp and one fish. Never had either with the sauces they provided which I didn’t like much. The fish ceviche was just chunks of fish and way too much lime. The shrimp ceviche was lacked all the extras, nothing really to it. Second and last experience (especially after reading other reviews)…the bathroom was disgusting and I would not go back for this main reason. We ended up ordering it to go and got a shrimp appetizer and was given two packets of KETCHUP to dip in, who gives ketchup!? Tried the shrimp ceviche again and it had no flavor, barely any cilantro, tomato, peppers, etc. I will say the shrimp cocktail wasn’t too bad. So my two stars are mainly due to the staff being friendly and the shrimp cocktail wasn’t too bad decent. We were really hoping to...
Read moreNow I don’t know what Wizardry Genius decided to combine Mexican food with seafood but baaaaaaaaaaaaby!!!!!!!!!! I’m sold!!!!! Like standing on the street corner wearing red lipstick in that mini skirt that my Ma’dere said looks like a woman of the night kinda sold LOL!!!!! How ya’ll bring two favorites together like that??? Now I felt like the shrimp was a little overcooked but the flavor had me wanting more. That tuna dish was delightful, and the oysters lacked the essence I was looking for by way of taste, camouflaged with all the veggies. The service was absolutely fabulous. Kudos to the bartender for the drink with coconut and pineapple!!!! I wish it wasn’t so loud with the music because I couldn’t hear myself think which makes me question if my taste buds were deceiving me so I’m making it my business and will come back for sure for a second attempt. I need to run...
