Paleteria Tropicana Shawnee — Restaurant in Shawnee

Very underwhelming. First time my wife and I tried to go was 7:45 pm last Saturday night and the owners were rapidly shouting at each other to lock up and not serve us (in Spanish, assuming I wasn’t fluent because of my appearance). When I said according to google they close at 10pm, they said that due to COVID they close at 8:30 pm (it was only 7:45 pm). They also weren’t wearing any masks, so it’s awfully convenient to blame COVID when you obviously don’t care enough to wear a mask. We decided to give it a second chance a few days later (this past Monday) and we went around 6 pm to accommodate them, and they served others and then disappeared in the back and never served us. This location needs improvement! I ordered churros and they were not cooked all the way . I asked for another order the lady just threw the churros back into the fryer, instead of giving new churros, obviously it didn't taste good also ordered corn in a cup it was so salty .The staff was in the back playing around. My mom ordered vanilla ice cream they said they were out .but then a man brought out some more , so they did have vanilla all along they just didn't want to go get it.I definitely won't come back to this location. I'll stick to the location on 18th street I'd rather wait in a long line than get bad service. I hope it's not the same owner you can tell there's a big difference...

This location is not that good. I asked for one cup of pistachio and lemon ice cream. I got one pistachio and another kind I ask of lemon they said no. Then they scooped it out and put it back in the ice cream. We went through this process three times before I gave up. Just got the lime ice cream. Then 15 minutes they turned up there music a lot. Like they don’t care about there customers. The main problem was not understanding English and the cross contamination. I’m not allergy to anything luckily but I know people who are.
