Waffle House — Restaurant in Shawnee

Here visiting from Ky. Walked in to a pretty busy restaurant right around 10am. But nothing too busy past what I've experienced before. 2 families were in front of my wife and I. They were sat within 5-6 minutes of our arrival. 2 tables got up, paid, and left. Amy told us as we waited in the seating by the window that she would be cleaning a table for us "ASAP... But it will be a minute". We said ok no problem. Well that " minute" turned into 15 or so with an empty table stacked with dirty plates and cups from the previous party. As were waiting for the table to be cleaned, 4-5 more families came in. Amy mentioned to 2 guys who came right in and tried to sit at our table, that it belonged to us......... But another 5 minutes went by with nothing being moved from the table. One of the families that were sat shortly after our arrival were sitting at a dirty table filled with the previous party's stuff as well. This was also Amy's table. After waiting over 30 minutes with half of that time being with an empty table waiting for my wife and I, we got up and came to sit at the booth. My wife stacked up the plates, went to get wet napkins from the bathroom to wipe the sticky table. As she's cleaning it, Amy comes to tell us that she was "going to do that... " we have no belief that she was in any rush to get the many ppl waiting seated asap. My wife asked her to please take these plates and cups that she had stacked up herself. Amy... With an attitude snatched the cups. My wife told her "don't snatch! " and and said "I'm not... " But she clearly was. The other family that were sat also started stacking up the dirty dishes from their table and also handed it to Amy. With an attitude Amy dumped the left over food in the trash beside our table and " cleaned" both or our tables with a towel that supposedly had bleach in it. She took both of our table's orders and we were finally served after 40-45 minutes.

Waffle House food is always delicious, but it's servers like Amy that deter good paying loyal customers away. No one asked Amy to apply to work here, but her attitude was as if we the customers forced her to be here. Smh! Not good!...

Came in this morning ordered a very simple regular order couldn’t get syrup after asking was handed a ticket to pay my food after 25 minutes as well as my some reason half the food was cold and I had to ask for my bacon some reason like they weren’t going to give it to me at all if I didn’t ask and so I took the ticket up to front to try to get some syrup and get a manager or something since asking the server Nigel wasn’t working as it appeared he was under the influence of something and I said I’m just trying to get syrup but at this point I just want to pay for what I ate and leave as the manager seemed confused and had a attitude with me even after saying I just wanted syrup for my waffle on my ticket I am being asked to pay for at least since I had wait 15 minutes or so with butter on it already and she just wanted me to leave so I walked out and simply left since she refused to understand her employee wasn’t serving me.

Looking back an hour after writing this review definitely looking to contact the owner of this establishment seeing as I can order food but the guy who took my order can't get jelly and or syrup for my meal when I asked for both and waited 15+ minutes after asking multiple times and instead brings me back another coke and also if you have employees drive to work under the influence drugs and can't do a simple task it makes it clear this establishment hires employees that can't pass any simple drug test without a bag of fake urine. I also offered multiple times to pay for my food I ate and explained the dude serving me was incapable of serving me like simply handing me syrup or jelly due to being under the influence of drugs would of rather just gone behind the counter and grabbed it myself if I knew the manager was going to defend an employee under the influence of drugs at work like that and refuse to even hear me out I also never raised my voice or had...

If i could give ZERO STARS I would , we just went in this Waffle house and this was by far the most terrible experience , we walked in and there were no clean tables , and most were not occupied ,they seen us there waiting didn't say one single word to our family. We sat there for about 5 mins or longer thinking one of the 8 or so employees would greet us and clean a booth for us to sit down but that did not happen , I had to go to the cash register to ask the guy working it could we have a booth cleaned , the girl who cleaned it had a terrible attitude like it killed her soul to clean the booth . We finally get seated and our waitress comes over and sets the table with silverware but stands there and never ask us what we want to drink . She comes and ask if we are ready to order I just state that we.would like to have some drinks first . She walks away , I'm thinking OK she has something important to do bf serving our drinks . She goes on to slam plates cleaning up the table behind us , never ask for our drink order just stands around slamming stuff and I pull a guy worker passing by to our table to ask him if we could please have our drinks , he asks who took our order and I told him that no one had taken it yet , he get the girl slamming stuff and tells her we need some drinks she gets a nasty attitude with the guy telling him to get out of her area that she has her area.under control , well she still never came to get our order , we have had enough at this point and decide this is absolutely unacceptable and we are leaving , she on had one damn table besides us and everyone there had the worst attitude. If you don't want to work at Waffle House on Saturday Morning then find a new damn job . I will never be going back to this...
