I'd first like to preface this review by saying that I typically don't do negative reviews-check my track record. That said, the only reason I am giving 3 stars is because the food was and always has been great! The service today was a different a different story. I ordered online, paid and tipped (20% for carryout!) The plan was to take the food home to eat. Something came up and I had to change up and dine in. The lady behind the counter, presumably the owner, was accommodating and told me to sit wherever I'd like. The server, on the other hand, acted like it was a huge inconvenience. She asked if I needed table settings, brought them (no bucket for shells) and my drink. All fine. Then...I didn't see her for ten minutes. When I did, I had to flag her down just to get salt. She then disappeared again for about ten minutes. Mind you, I was one of four people in the restaurant, as it was late afternoon (3pm). She finally returns and refills my drink and brings my $3.28 check for it...remember, I had already paid AND tipped online. I didn't look at the check and put $3 on the table, thinking most places charge $2.50 or less for soft drinks. The server picked up the money, no thank you or anything, then brings it back and says I still owe her $0.28. I had half a mind to tell her to take it out of the 20% tip that she did not earn! I bit my tongue, went out to my car to get some change and paid it. I know this may sound petty, but to hound me for 28 cents after I spent $50 in food and tip is beyond...
Read moreWent in with my husband this evening for a first time and he was so excited to try something closer opposed to Kingz Krab in Missouri. The decor was nice but instantly the ambiance was off. No music nor TV’s?? Okay.. I order a lemon drop margarita and even made sure that was doable. I received a martini. My waiter was a very kind gentleman and replaced it. Very slow service though. I receive our food, and mines was extremely overcooked. The crab meat wouldn’t come out after 3 attempts on one leg (I eat seafood a lot). The eggs were severely over-boiled with deep grey yolks, and let’s not start with the shrimp. My husband was excited, so we kept his plate because he was hungry even though he couldn’t finish.. he began eating it. Asked for a refund for my meal, waited all of 10 minutes to have my meal taken off since all I did was bite into an egg, cracked one crab leg three times, ate two sausage slivers and had enough. I ordered extra spicy, and it legit tasted like chicken broth with onion powder, garlic powder and red pepper flakes. The Asian Male manager gave me hell for his overpriced catastrophe, and rudely implied that I wasn’t gonna tip the waiter and was very discriminatory and belligerent even after informing him I’m a first time customer. 😬...
Read moreMy friend took me out to eat at Seafood Island tonight as a surprise. We were both super disappointed!
I ordered an 8 piece Buffalo chicken wing for an appetizer and a fried shrimp basket with onion rings for my meal. My friend ordered some Cajun fries as an appetizer and King Crab Legs for her meal.
A few issues..
My fried shrimp basket came out first. Nothing else came out. I wanted to wait until some of my friends' food came out before I started eating. About 10 minutes later, the rest of the food came out, including the appetizers.. So my main meal was always cold by the time all other food was served.
No explanation. No apologies.
As you can see from the photo, the fries are not seasoned at all and are very plain.. Had to ask for seasoning, and we just put it on ourselves.
If you look at my friends King Crab Leg plate in the photos, she paid $65 [before tax] for that plate of food.. $65!!
I had to ask for a refill on my drink several times, and each time, it took her over 5 minutes to come back with some water. Same thing when we asked for extra ranch and napkins.
It wasn't even like they were busy.
This place is a one and done for me. If I could leave 0 stars, I would.
If you also look in the photos, you can see my water glass...
