Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Shawnee

First of all, we love Papa John’s pizza but will probably never go back to our local location. This review is relevant to the Shawnee OK location only.

Tonight we ordered 2 pizzas and an order of cheesesticks. It was a carry out order and placed on the website. We get to the location and pay. Through the drive-thru we can see what appears to be them looking for our pizza. The young man comes back to the window and states that he guesses that the cook forgot to prepare one of our pizzas and it would be an additional 15 minutes. I said by that time my other pizzas will be cold and by the time I get home with them they most definitely will be. He stated he would get his manager. He steps away for just a moment then returns. He stated his manager said that the next time we order we can get a freshness guarantee. I asked what that was, he said that they would guarantee it was hot and ready when I arrived and I’d receive a discount but wouldn’t provide me with a discount amount. I told what kind of deal is that I already expect my pizza to be fresh? I said never mind and wanted my money back. He left and went and got the manager, they went to the register and voided my transaction. I never received an apology and was treated as of I was being unreasonable for wanting my ALL my pizzas warm. The manager never came to the window, nothing. Then upon reading on the papa Johns website I see the freshness guarantee must be redeemed the same day you purchase the pizza. And if I am reading it correctly I should have received my cold pizzas for FREE tonight! I find this unacceptable and will not return. I am very sad because this is our only papa johns location in my town. Back to...

I Give one star because that is the minimum amount required to post a review, if it were different, I would have given less. I came in and ordered cinnamon pull-aparts, some bread sticks, a BBQ chicken& bacon pizza, a meat lovers pizza, and a sausage &jalapeño pizza. Once It had all been brought out, I looked to make sure we had everything and we were missing our bread sticks, which was no big deal. I went inside to inform them, and they had another order made for me in about 10 minutes. Soon after I arrived home, I noticed we were given a plain cheese pizza instead of our BBQ chicken and bacon pizza. I tried to call them back 4 times not to ask for a refund, but to let them know. and on the first 3 calls, they answered but said nothing and hung up shorty after. On the last call, the boy who took my order answered the phone and I began to explain the situation to him. Not even 1 minute into my explanation, he pops off and says "okay, byeeeeee" and hung up on me. I will not be visiting papa...

I ordered from the shawnee location for the first time and I can honestly say it will be the only time I order from Papa John's . When I realized they made my pizza wrong and called them to see about correcting it I was told I could come back and they would make it correctly but were unwilling to offer any compensation for their mistake and my time wasted having to travel back there. A simple offer of a 2 liter or a cookie would have gone a long way in making me feel happy to order again. I asked if they could deliver the correct pizza at no delivery fee ( I stated I was happy ro tip the driver) the manager wasn't even willing to do that. The manager did end up refunding for the whole order but it was done with an attitude not deserved since the error was on their end. I had only asked for my money back on that particular pizza not the whole order. Regardless of the refund I will never order from them again and I strongly suggest everyone check...
