The Sno Shak — Restaurant in Shawnee

Yesterday we visited the Snow Shak to get a snow cone. We had already been here a few times and realized there was a second window so we pulled into the south side window and ordered the rootbeer snow cone. The young lady took our money and disappeared for a moment before proceeding to make our order. From this window we noticed that they used their bare hands to pack it down into the cone. We supposed that perhaps she washed her hands after she took our money when we could not see her for a moment. When she handed us the cones, we asked her if she had washed her hands after handling the money before making our order. Her answer was an astounding no. Upon this revelation, we asked why she would touch the ice with her bare hands and not use gloves. Again her answer floored us as she stated it was optional. We asked her to remake them or refund us. Okay, let me start with the fact that I had never been to this place until yesterday but their snowcones were better than any I’ve ever had! Plus, the price is absolutely amazing for the amount they give you! I ordered a Jumbo so that if it was small, I’d have plenty to eat. I then saw how big it was and I was so surprised because places have started to charge a ridiculous amount for things that aren’t worth it. (McDonald’s) I wasn’t very happy with how long the wait was. We had 3 cars in front of us, 2 left due to lack of patience and it still took us about 30 minutes until we could order and then 10 to get our stuff. However, the wait was worth it! 10/10,...

I like this place they have a drive-thru. So that is a plus in my book. I'm a very busy person so having to stop park my car get out waiting a long line is not really convenient for me. But I will say if you do go to the snow Shack you will have to wait. And in some cases it is actually faster to get out and wait in line. The flavors are good.
