Let me set the back story 27 years ago when I was just a baby in my mother's tummy her and my father worked at this amazing Chinese buffet called golden chopsticks. When ever we had extra money while growing up that would be our family favorite spot to eat. Fast forward to today I decide to go to my childhood Chinese buffet with my boyfriend who has never been. The decor is nice, I remembe they remodeled years and years ago but the look is still timeless, we sit down and both get a hot tea we get up to make a plate and here was the first red flag Styrofoam plates.... I can look over it, second red flag everything looked dry and old but you know maybe it's like a weird time to be there, so we sit back down and third red flag plastic forks and 2 paper thin napkins weird but I'm ready for this rush of nostalgia I don't even mind anymore. I take the first bite and there was no flavor to my garlic green beans which used to be my favorite how do you forget garlic on the green beans? š¤ and all the food is really off for a lack of a better term. I finish my first cup of tea and my boyfriend has 2 cups at this time but I go to pour my 2nd cup and out comes 2 little bugs and another floating something or other that we aren't even sure what it was 𤢠I get the waitress and let her know and she takes the tea and my cup just around their half wall and she was talking to another person they kept looking over the wall at me making me feel like I was on some messed up tv show. She came back and gave us half off the bill and promised the tea was made fresh everyday I just said thank you but we'd like the check. She seemed apathetic but I feel like a really good memory was just ripped from...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been going here from time to time as a kid for the past 18 years..the food USED to be good. Today was the last time iāll be paying a visit there though. The prices used to be $8-9 and now itās around $13 per person⦠It was around 3:30-ish when I arrived with my siblings and boyfriend. In total, we were a group of 5. Upon arriving, we werenāt even approached but rather I had to make eye contact with one of the ladies who worked there and then she pointed us to our booth. Now, I have no idea why she would sit us at a booth in which we ended up sitting at 2 booths because there wasnāt enough room. As she was directing us, she gave us glares and immediately off the bat gave me āweirdā vibes/energy. Anyways, we got our food eventually and it was as if all the food was dried out or had been sitting there for a long time and had not been replaced. Due to the sitting out and being kept in a warm pan, the food eventually dried out and became stale. This honestly wasnāt a pleasant experience. Our waitress honestly didnāt even care or even conversed with us or communicated. Our total came to $63ā¦which isnāt bad but we could have spent that money elsewhere. The place overall is pretty unsanitary and feels as if it was falling apart. It was also pretty dead when we went also. Lastly, Golden automatically places a tip onto your total..so technically we ended up tipping her $4 or somethingā¦when really she didnāt deserve a tip at all.. After arriving home..I threw up the food. Not because I hated the experience, but because my body was physically rejecting what I had eaten and felt nauseous the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThings started on a low note and only got worse. The server seating people wanted to place us within inches of a table where a baby screaming its lungs out. The worker seemed confused and was entirely perplexed as to why we didn't want that table, then tried to seat us at another table only 6 feet away from the still screaming baby. We were finally able to get a table at the other corner of the restaurant, far from the screaming baby. I'm not blaming the baby, just the person trying to seat us next to that table when there were literally 95% other open tables.
It was 6PM on a Friday and I would have expected there to be fresh and hot food in nearly all the buffet spots but it was just the opposite. Nearly every steamer tray was almost empty and what was available was at room temperature and appeared to have been picked over and pushed around for a few hours. We spent 40 minutes trying to find some good items, but even in that time only a handful of items were replaced or refreshed, and those were items that we didn't come to an Asian restaurant for, such as french fries.
We had diet Mist but it tasted like it was really just unflavored carbonated water.
All the desserts looked old and dried, as if they are the same pre-made cake pieces and chocolate eclairs that are put out each day and then put back in the fridge at night and then brought back out the next day.
When we went to pay, we had to flag down someone to come to the register. She said nothing, didn't bother to ask us how everything was, if she had, I would have gladly let her know how horrible...
