Who knew that such incredible sushi is right here in Vermont?!?! They just added the “dancing volcano” roll and it is the stuff dreams are made of. Little bit spicy, little bit sweet, little bit savory…..the flavors are in perfect harmony with each other and the TEXTURES. It will melt in your mouth. Also not to be missed: sushi pizza (no red sauce need apply), peanut street noodles, and ANYTHING dipped in the Japanese ginger salad dressing. I don’t even like ginger and this stuff is liquid gold. All of the curries and Chinese dishes are SOLID….fresh ingredients, plentiful amounts, you will not be disappointed. I’ve literally never had a complaint. Bonus: If you’re having a bad day, the owner, Ron, will fill you up with laughter. Promise! :)

FOOD POISONING I went to the restaurant with my family. Not long after our meal, I started feeling cramps. By the time I got home, I realized I had food poisoning and spent the night in pain, experiencing symptoms like vomiting and diarrhea. The food poisoning symptoms were so painful, and now I regret going to that restaurant. I believe the contamination might have been from dirty oil, especially since the chicken wings we ordered had a very dark color, though it could have also been something else with the food or the restaurant. Also, when the server came to take our order, I noticed he had a runny nose and even licked it, which should have been a warning sign not to eat there. My family and I discussed it but overlooked the situation.

We’ve ordered from Chef Leu’s many times. Tonight, my husband placed an order which included green curry with beef. He came home with our food, which contained the attached photo. I told him this is not green curry, and it most certainly isn’t the green curry that they’ve served in the past. He went back to the restaurant thinking we had the wrong order where they were insistent that, yes, this is actually green curry. This is in no way a green curry dish.

I moved to VT from Arlington, VA Oct 2021 and have since struggled to find the kind of Chinese food I'm accustomed to enjoying. Besides one other place, Chef Leu's House hit the spot!

I picked this placed based on an article from SevenDays and because Mandarin and Single Pebble weren't open for lunch. However, when arriving we saw the sign on the front door saying they are still only doing Take Out. As we started to walk away, Ronnie came out and invited us in to dine inside.

Ronnie was super friendly and more than accommodating. He explained how to order online and to indicate we were dining in. I ordered the Szechuan beef which was shredded and spicy, which is what I am used to back in VA.

He also shared some of his personal candies and snacks from Japan. He hopes to provide the dine in option again very soon now that the weather is getting warmer again.

Please stop in when they do! Until then, takeout via online. Everything...

Easy access from the main travel corridor, ample parking, and no wait. The menu has a wide selection, including many good vegetarian options. My wife and I enjoyed our food. We were hoping for something with a little more authentic feel compared to the usual American-style Chinese/Asian reataurants. This was definitely more upscale than an all-you-can-eat buffet, but didn't seem all that authentic or exotic. Many of the menu choices are what you might expect at those other restaurants: Sesame Chicken, Stir fry with noodles, etc. With a few exceptions. My wife ordered Pad Thai Shrimp and I had the House Special Duckling, extra spicy. It was hardly spicy at all and resembled a common saucy stir fry from an American-Style Asian place, except it had tasty morsels of roast duck.

In short, it had good atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food, though this is probably not the place to go to for a unique and ethnic...

Was craving Chinese food and thought I would try Chef Leu's House. Food arrived fairly quickly and the food was still hot. We ordered beef with broccoli, sweet and sour chicken,House Special fried rice, and House Special Low Mein. I have to say that the beef and broccoli and House Special Low Mein were spot on. But the House Special fried rice lack color. To me it looked like white rice mixed with peas, carrots, and baby shrimp. The Sweet and Sour Chicken could've have been served with green bell peppers and white onions in the sweet and sour sauce along with the pineapple. But it didn't and in the sweet and sour sauce was pineapple and cherries which is very different for me to see. The restaurant could've left out the cherries because the sweet and sour sauce was tasty enough with pineapple only. The real down fall here was the sweet and sour sauce and that some of the cherries had their stems...
