Asahi Sushi — Restaurant in Shelby Charter Township

My boyfriend and I have been going to their original locations for years now and we were excited to find this new location open!

Both the menu and sushi list have a few new items. We tried some new rolls; the "Lisa Lisa" roll, "K pop" roll, and "Garfield" roll. I really liked the crunch of the Lisa Lisa roll and the sweet/sour sauce of the Garfield roll (which pairs well with a little bit of soy sauce). My boyfriend enjoyed the savoriness of the K pop roll!

We finished off with the "tropical" roll which is a dessert roll and it tasted exactly like how they make it at the original location.

Additionally, if there is a roll from the original location that isn't on the list at the new location, you can request a special order (I recommend the "Amazing Salmon" roll!)

My friends and I were very excited to try this location since we are fans of the other location in Clinton Township. First off, the entire restaurant was very clean and spacious. I loved the aesthetic and decorations all around the place. The atmosphere itself was refreshing. I enjoyed it very much. The service was also great. All of the staff members treated us with respect and kindness. We felt welcomed and cared for during our meal. The food was very delicious. I am glad that it tasted just as good as the other location’s rolls. We ordered some of the tempura rolls, the Pink Lady roll, the Cajun Volcano, and the Livingston. They all tasted so, so good. My favorite is the Livingston roll. The Cajun Volcano roll is also very spicy, but if you can handle the spice, then you will be fine. Overall, we will be returning. The food and atmosphere...

If you haven’t tried this place you have to go!! Such a fantastic experience, the staff was very attentive and friendly. Sebastian was our server and he was so kind, not only him but the host as well as others greeted us as we sat down. We dined at the sushi bar and as soon as we sat down we were taken care of. Exchanging our dirty plates for clean ones in between courses, picking up straw and chopstick wrappers were just a couple of the small details that took the experience from amazing to exceptional.
