Stopped in for the first time in years last night for a quick dinner, seated promptly and our waitress was nice. Ordering was a little slow as was the time the food took to come out, but nothing tragic. My sandwich was great, my husband's entree okay and my daughter's kids meal was inedible. I get it, it's a corn dog, not top shelf cuisine. That being said, it should also be hard to mess up. It was mushy, the hot dog was cold but worst of all, it tasted of some of the worst freezer burn ever. Our waitress brought her a soup instead. Because we were nearly done eating and my daughter had just got her soup, we decided to order a cocktail. I got the peach tea from the drink "specials" menu. It was horrible. Our waitress never asked how it was so upon leaving, I took it to the bar where the manager was standing and told her that the tea drink possibly needs a revamp. It's too strong and neither sweet, sour or peach tasting. Another employee acknowledged that they used unsweetened tea but the manager's response: "My advice would be next time to order something else because I have my two best bartenders here tonight". Oh really. Thanks for the advice. I was going to order something that I took one sip of next time because that makes sense. (BTW, my husband also took a sip and stated my drink tasted like gasoline). So anyway my final impression with no apology given (I had already cashed out so was NOT trying to get it taken off my bill) or even friendly smile will leave me not returning to...
Read moreAs a fellow service industry worker this is something I NEVER do but the experience we had last week has been bothering me ever since..
We were visiting Michigan to see family, and they took us to their "favorite spot", Mr. B's, where I was shocked at the way the servers were treated by the owner of the restaurant! The girl waiting on us (I wish I had the reciept so I could give her name) was so sweet, and clearly struggling but we know how it goes so we're patient. The manager pulled this poor server aside and absolutely reamed her, with personal attacks and a completely unprofessional attitude. That kind of interaction with employees is not only unacceptable in front of customers, it is unacceptable any time! I felt so bad for our server, she tried to keep a brave face but there were clearly tears in her eyes as she cleared plates from our table.
I don't know who taught this lady that it's ok to treat employees that way, but it was horrible to witness. I hope that poor server gets a new job and the heck away from that place. Food was decent, beers were meh, but the experience was disturbing. My husband had to steer me out the door as quick as possible before I had words with that awful woman myself. Good luck to anyone trying to make a living there, I hope you know you don't deserve to be treated like...
Read moreTook wife here for her birthday this past Saturday. Ordered drinks and food. Everything was fine until food was delivered. I ordered the steak tips. The steak tips came in a bowl. This was more of a soup or stew rather than steak tips. I grabbed a menu to make sure I didn't read the description of the appetizer correctly. There was no description of what I was served. The tips looked broiled, grey and not cooked very well. It was disgusting looking. Who serves steak tips like this? The pita bread served with the tips were just sitting in the bowl with the "soup". I ate 1 piece of the pita, it was stale. When the little blonde waitress came over and asked if everything was ok, I said that I didn't know the tips were to be served like this. She said yup, and that was it. Wow, I was just floored by the customer service just oozing out of this woman. She did not care at all. She should have at least asked to replace it, but she did not. We were planning on staying most of the night for my wife's birthday. As soon as my wife finished eating, we asked for check. The waitress charged us for the tips, even though we definitely expressed we did not like how the food was served. The cost of the tips came out of HER tip. Very nice people. Will never go back...
