First off there is a distinct musky smell once you open the door and it has nothing to do with the food, ordered my food to go because I was at work and was asked to wait 30 mins before pickup. I ordered a baked potato, grilled jumbo shrimp, and onion rings as I was unsure of what to order because I have never eaten at this place before. Got my food and took it back to work which was less than a 7 minute drive, my onion rings were cold and flavorless, shrimp looked as if it had been boiled in water with no seasoning, didn’t even make it to the baked potato. I called them and was told to bring the food back. I did just that. I was told my food was warm just before I got there. Now what the hell!!! We ain’t even started on the shrimp but you are going to tell me my food was warm just before I arrived?!?! I was told to wait 30mins before pickup!!!! I get my food and it’s COLD!!!! We finally get to the shrimp, it has no salt, no butter, no lime or lemon wedge nothing, looked like it had been boiled in a pot of water!!! I’m told no refunds!!! Customers in this case should always be right. When I think of grilled shrimp I think of garlic butter and lime. Not boiled water!!! I will NEVER eat here again not for $25 for that mess!!! Only reason I gave a star was so I could tell y’all about my experience....
Read moreFirst visit. Restaurant is in some kind of old and historical looking building. We asked for info from employees, but were given no real glimpse or explanation of its past. Kind of spooky, really.
Once inside, the decor is kind of campy and cheap looking. Peeling paint up in the corners of the ceilings. Raggedy fake fishnetting and an unattractive blue paint scheme to go along with the seafood restaurant theme. Tables and surroundings were relatively clean and neat, but a kind of musty odor upon walking in reminded me of the old smoking areas that most eateries used to have.
Food order was prompt but had to have some substitutions for menu items for which they were out. Everything tasted fine and portions were nothing to complain about. Coleslaw had an unappealing appearance, maybe from the lighting, but was some of the best I can remember. Some condiment items were in need of refilling, our waitress was prompt and helpful when asked.
Needs improvement with the ambience. A more modern, stately and inviting decor could make this a better experience. No complaints with food, except knowledge of unavailable items would be nice to know before ordering. Maybe some better combinations for the menu, but overall good prices...
Read moreSave your money. $15+ for a seafood platter that comes with flounder, shrimp, oysters, potato/fries, crab, clam strips, and hush puppies. They’ve been out of clam strips but, don’t worry, you pay the same price with no extra anything. Actually, they’d give you less! Less shrimp, four hush puppies, it was crazy. Yes, inflation is a thing. But guess what, raise the price. It’d be different if they didn’t used to serve a great amount of food, but it’s gone way down hill.
I only gave this experience two stars because the food was actually relatively good, but not worth the price. My family visit this place several times a month and we have a large family so that’s upwards of $60 every time. We’ll never visit again. If we want to waste our money, we’d get more value by rolling down our windows and throwing it into the breeze.
After two experiences of incredibly skimpy plates, if they’re doing this to everyone, I give them a year maybe two before they go out of business. Good luck to anyone who...
