I use to visit this place a lot, one-two years ago, but as time went on the business became worse to me (drinks made wrong, bad balance of milk and coffee, a lack of welcoming customer service, and problems stemming from poor training of new hires, who continually made my orders wrong, weeks and weeks after their training period.) quality of the store overall has increasingly dropped more, and the atmosphere of the area has personally started to lose the comfortably nature it had when I first arrived, I wonât say itâs all bad, a lot to improve on, especially with building and cleaning, but you could still possibly find you new favorite spot to work on projects and relax, depending on when you go and who is there to make your order.
ButâŠ
My latest experience a Barista there was casually talking to a friend at a table, as I havenât been there in a while, and just had a long trip coming back through unfamiliar areas in cherryville, I seen no problems with this, and excused myself to the bathroom as soon as I walked in, before stopping by the store, I had already had coffee earlier from lily bean (midtown), so I didnât have a taste for coffee. I wanted to simply stop somewhere I knew and seen as friendly and welcoming, but I was unaware of the change to the bathroom policy to the Public, (that I have to buy something first, which isnât an problem for me, but as someone who use to go there daily about a year ago, I was unaware of that being a rule, didnât see the âsignâ I was told about outside, and have yet to see anyone else stopped.) The barista stopped me, after I exited and politely started to leave, (which I would have preferred if I was stopped before I entered). They gave me a wide eye that made me uncomfortable and said that, âthe bathroom was for paying customers onlyâ, in a tone that felt alien compared to all of the previous experiences I had with the workers and environment before. This wouldnât be a big problem to me if it was not said in a way that felt belittling as if I was broke and purposely trying to break a rule. when I was going there daily, for the two years I went, I enjoyed going there, and never had that problem, but to be blindsided by that kind of energy left me in awe, Truly sad to say that I now choose to avoid the...
Read moreWe came into town Sunday, January 23rd, to look at a house & wanted to try this little coffee shop. We used online ordering so that it would be ready when we got there. When we arrived it wasn't too busy & it was 3 employees working. We were a few minutes after the time it stated it would be ready, but stood there waiting, for the guy working to say he honestly forgot to do the online order. Appreciated his honesty. But he had to turn around to 2 other females who weren't in the making area & ask what was going on. Apparently one of the girl's dad was arrested & some others from their family were getting arrested as well because the police were at their house. Okay, stuff happens but you're at work with paying customers waiting.
We ordered two cold drinks, Signature Iced Coffee & an iced Mexican Coffee. My husband's Mexican Coffee was handed to him hot, not iced & my Signature drink was more like milk with a splash of coffee, instead of coffee with a splash of milk. My husband enjoyed his though it was hot, but I couldn't handle drinking half & half as there was really no coffee taste. I'm sure this was a bad day given the other reviews, but if we're back in the area this won't be our stop for coffee. Gave it 2 stars because it was a cute little coffee shop & online ordering is convenient, when it's not...
Read moreLilybean is a cute coffee shop and I love that it is within walking distance of my apartment! There are just a few things that keep me from giving them a 5 star rating. Whenever I walk in the barista is always hanging out at a table with friends and continues the talk with them while making my drink. I swear they put sugar-free syrup in my drinks without even asking if I want it or not. There was a girl behind the counter making her own drink who does not work there which I thought was odd. I noticed bugs in the pastry display case so I did not buy any food. My husband and I were sitting on the couch just trying to have a little date but the barista and friends were messing around with the sound system playing some not so good music that was just too distracting for us so we left. I used the bathroom before we left and it was not clean. Also I noticed straw wrappers on the tables and floor. As a former barista it bothers me to see the staff sitting around when there is cleaning to be done. âIf you have time to lean you have time to cleanâ. Iâd love to give a 5 star rating soon! Hopefully the staff will pick up the pace and be a little more professional...
