My family and I visited this restaurant from out of town this weekend. We were first-time customers on a very busy Saturday, and we all left feeling very conflicted about our experience. To begin with the positive: the food here is really excellent for the most part. They offer gluten free options, which is great for me. The steak and mushroom pie was hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. My mom really loved her pepperoni pizza as well, and dad raved about the club sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their meal, and the only real critiques about the actual food were the somewhat lukewarm fries and spinach artichoke dip that was very thick and chunky and not at all cheesy, which gave it a somewhat grassy taste. Overall, though, really fantastic as far as actual dishes.
However, the good food wasn't what my group drove home talking about: it was the poor service. While they were understandably busy, it seemed as though they were surprised by being so busy and completely overwhelmed. We were shown to a table that hadn't been cleaned and was still quite literally dirty to the point of being sticky when we sat down, which is both unsanitary and unsafe in an ongoing pandemic. Our waitress was not very friendly and not very attentive (she jetted off without even taking every member of the table's drink order). When she was present, she was aloof, impatient, and didn't really say much that didn't relate to taking orders. Another waitress, who wasn't ours, not only audibly and rudely complained about having to walk an extra six feet around us to get back to the kitchen, but knocked into me on our way out the door and didn't care one bit. While we enjoyed the meal, we were absolutely displeased with the servers themselves. Beautiful restaurant locale, great food, but the staff could absolutely stand to improve how they...
Read moreWe (a family of 4) dine here almost weekly and it’s never been a negative experience. The quality of food hasn’t declined at all in the 6 yrs we’ve lived here, and that’s saying a lot in this economy! Their pizzas are absolutely delicious and also inventive! My faves are the steak and mushroom pizza (which is drizzled in horseradish sauce with a white base) and the ricotta pie, which is pesto based with sun dried tomatoes and ricotta/mozzarella cheese. I also enjoy getting the trio salad-chicken salad (always heavy on the chicken and flavor, not super saturated with mayo!) and double fruit salad. My kids enjoy the meat lovers pizza or their variety of burgers, sandwiches and fries. Their fries are always crispy and perfect. The only downside because it’s a popular restaurant is the wait on some nights (especially Tuesdays, which is half priced pizza nights w $3 draft beers, many of which are NC beers ❤️) but that doesn’t deter us! If it’s super crowded, we’ll come in, have a couple of beers and order our pizzas to go. The staff is always very friendly, prompt and take good care of their customers. And it must be a great place to work because the staff are usually the same faces we’ve been seeing for yrs! So they must treat their employees well, and I stand behind a business who treats their employees great. The cooking staff is quick, consistent, and they work so hard! The fact that this spot is so popular is a testament to their food and service alone! Thanks, PC for saving many nights of “what’s for dinner?!” and for the great service and...
Read moreI want to start this review by saying the small issue we had here would not deter us from coming here again. Our server’s name was Wendy and she was incredible! We ordered wings, the city salad with grilled chicken, and a fried chicken wrap with bacon.
The food came out promptly and was fresh! The city salad had plenty of chicken and dressing as well (it was a dark vinaigrette). They have Pepsi products to drink (which I wasn’t thrilled since I am an avid Sprite drinker). Read more to see our “small” issue…
As my son was eating the wings, he noticed an incredibly long black hair on the wings. However l, he noticed it 2 seconds too late and the hair found its way into his mouth…. I didn’t want to make too big of a deal as there were multiple other people eating around us. I brought this to Wendy’s attention and she appeared to be mortified. She immediately said she would go and grab the manager.
Maybe less than a minute later, Wendy came back to the table and told us our meal was taken care of. Not just my son’s meal, which had the issue but our entire meal. She handled this very professionally and I could tell she was genuinely embarrassed. In fact, she said she was heartbroken for my son because she could tell he was really enjoying the flavor of the Cholula wings.
As I said above, this small issue would not deter us from coming back to this location. The staff was friendly. The food was incredible and honestly, the prices were very reasonable. Wendy is one of the best waitresses we’ve had on our entire vacation in...
