Mi Pueblito Mexican Restaurant is one of our favorite places to eat in Shelby. We always get the La Favoritas with extra queso and a side order of queso dip. The food is always great and the La Favoritas, which include chicken, steak, and shrimp with rice, peppers, onions, and mushrooms, and definitely a must have. There are two reasons that I put four stars instead of five. First, when you call in your order they always tell you 10 minutes regardless of how long it will take them to prepare your food. On numerous occasions I have showed up for my food after 10 minutes and ended up waiting another 15 or 20 minutes for my food to be ready. If it will take 25 minutes for my food to be prepared please tell me that it will take 25 minutes. The second reason for the reduction of one star is that they recently remodeled the restaurant, but they did not leave a message on the phone that let patrons know that they were closed for remodeling. I called to place an order and every time it rang and rang then eventually just said something like, "this call cannot be placed as dialed." I assumed they were busy or there was an issue with the phone line. The next day I tried again and got the same results. On the third day I called and, after receiving the message, decided to drive to the restaurant to place my order in person. When I arrived I noticed the sign on the door that said the restaurant was closed for renovations. It would have been really, really nice if they would have left a voicemail prompt letting their customers know that the store was closed for remodeling and would reopen...
Read moreMy coworker and I went for to Mi Pueblito for lunch today and it was by far one of the WORST lunch experiences that I’ve ever had. To start, they were very unwelcoming and the server had a really nasty attitude. One he came to take our orders, I asked him about the Chicken Wings and he told me that they could be fried crispy as I wanted them and tossed in Texas Pete. Well, I wasn’t really sold on that but he ended up convincing me to order them. Needless to say, the food arrived and the wings looked disgusting. I expressed to my waiter that I didn’t want them he then told me to get them taken off at the register. Once we got to the register, I explained the whole ordeal to the cashier and she goes and get the manager to further assist me. The manager came out and I explained it to him; He then began to argue with me and demanding for me to pay for food that I didn’t even touch. He lied and said I opened a wing up and I NEVER TOUCHED IT! He said well all I can do is charge you half price, I said not paying any price for something that I didn’t even touch. He was EXTREMELY rude and argumentative with me. I finally told him do what you must because I’m not paying for that and he just agreed to rush me out of the way. But he and his staff were extremely rude and made my visit very unpleasant. I’ll NEVER eat there or recommend them to...
Read moreI placed a to-go order for enchiladas, beans and rice and requested the sauce it comes with be replaced with cheese sauce. I picked up my order and went home to enjoy only to discover the cheese sauce I was charged $1.75 extra for was not on my enchiladas. I immediately called the restaurant and the little girl that answered the phone was not only rude but also argued with me that there was cheese sauce on my enchiladas. She then handed the phone to a manager and he began to argue with me as well. He told me he didn't believe me and told me to take a picture of it and send it to him. I was appalled! Never have I ever had a manager call me a liar and demand a picture as proof. I did however send a picture but no one responded. Infact, at no point and time did the manager or the little girl that answered the phone apologize or offer to fix it, instead I was called a liar over $1.75 for cheese. Unbelievable, unprofessional and completely unacceptable!! I should also add that the food was poor quality. The chips tasted like cardboard and the salsa tasted like it came out of a can, it was awful. The enchiladas were dry and tasted like Taco Bell meat. This was hands down the worst mexican food I have ever had. I would never recommend this place. Take my advice and spend your hard earned money...
