Bojangles — Restaurant in Shelbyville

This was my first time at a Bojangles, ever, as we were traveling through the south. We waited 15 min after ordering to get to the window, where we paid and were not provided a reciept. We were asked to pull forward and waited another 5 minutes until someone brought out fresh food. We were only slightly irritated by this time, as slow service happens sometimes. We got back out on the road and discovered we didn’t have silverware, so couldn’t eat any of our sides, none of our dipping sauces, so the fresh chicken was a giant bland let-down. The food was fresh, what we were able to eat without being provided silverware.

Here’s were my frustrations escalate- I called to discuss this with the store, we weren’t going to turn around and go back, so I requested one of the two meals be refunded. The girl I spoke to said that it was only possible if we were present as the card had to be swiped. Then she HUNG UP ON ME.

When mistakes are made, I expect someone working in food service to attempt to right a wrong. No other options were suggested, no apologies were issued, and I was expected, despite having patiently waited 20 min for food, to be the one to fix the problem.

Needless to say, I will not ever return to this chain restaurant and am looking forward to returning home were manners are...

Staff was great and everything was clean. We went right at noon on a Friday. While I expect fried chicken to be sitting in a warmer, items such as French fries and boneless chicken breast can be dropped when the customer orders if business is slow. I understand some people prefer not to wait, but I had to wait on my tots anyway. My chicken Cajun filet was old, discolored, dry and chewy as well as my daughters fries but the biscuits were great. This is a solid Bojangles. It's extremely clean and the staff are very good at what they do. Sometimes they come across direct instead of warm and friendly, and the night crew sometimes takes a while to serve food, but this is the best place in Shelbyville for quick service chicken by far.
