Waffle House — Restaurant in Shelbyville

When I say that I had my best experience with waffle house yet and probably my best experience with late night dining I've had yet I seriously mean it! And I attribute it to one person, and that person was Renee! I came in to the Shelbyville TN waffle house tonight after having one of those dreaded days that effect a person to the point of it showing on my face regardless of the valiant effort on my part to hide it. But I tell you what, Ms.Renee saw right through that attempt to hide the stress of my bad day that I carried into the restaurant with me and saw through my attempt to hide the tears I was holding back and did everything she could to make me feel welcomed and at home while I was there. I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on toast with a side of hash browns before she jumped behind the grill and whipped it up GOOD for me. And I don't say that it was good lightly, I mean it was GOOOODDD. And when I say good I mean it was just as good if not even better than If my mom (God rest her soul) cooked it. For example, I was really reluctant to order hash browns due to the fact that every time I would order them in the past they were never cooked right. Well, that certainly wasn't the case when it came to Ms. Renee's hash browns! Now I rarely refer to anything as perfect but I sure will with the hash browns cooked by Ms.Renee! They had just the right amount of crispiness and flavor that I've been looking for in hash browns. Oh! And the sausage egg and cheese was ON POINT!!! as well. Anyway I wrote all of what you just read in hope of a couple of things, One thing is that someone in a higher department reads this and will fulfill hope number two for me which is the hope that Ms.Renee is as well taken care of within the company as well as I was taken care of by her. And finally hope three is the hope for a team of employees like Ms.Renee and Ms.Hannah at every waffle house in the country including the waffle house in my city of Rocky Mount, NC!. Because with as much and for as long as I've traveled the country I know one thing is for sure... This type of amazing service and food is a VERY RARE occurrence.

Saturday 2.12.22, visited there around 6:30. When we arrived, the store was not busy,only one table was being served. When me and my family entered, a short female cook kept saying to our soon to be waitress, "you get what you wish for. I guess they thought they were going get busy. We sat at the table ten to fifteen minutes before we where greeted. The waitress was kinda slow,never greeted us,just laid down our silverware and left...I'm going to make a long bad experience short, food was bad, service was bad, I'd I had to give it an all around grade...it would be an F. Rosie was the worst waitress I’ve ever had which is saying a lot. When we first got there, my family waited 10 minutes, on a Sunday that’s expected but meanwhile every table in her section was dirty and she was just talking. Then after we had to seat ourselves, we ordered our food, and she didn’t bring my daughters waffle. She never checked back for me to tell her we didn’t get it so I had to walk up to her and request one that then took another 6 minutes to receive. We waited 10 minutes for our tickets while she talked some more and ignored us and we had to stand another 3 minutes for her to incorrectly add up our ticket and overcharge us for drinks.
