Pretty good food but the service is terrible. We were there for a second time Saturday night. There was only one table open at the time in the back near the restrooms. We decided to sit at a few open spots at the bar and told the host we would take the next open table, other than the one mentioned above. First off, the host sat the couple that came in after us at the next open table. We said something to the bartender who reminded the host. Even with this the bartender still had to stop the host from seating the next people coming in before us.
After about 25 minutes of the above, we finally got to sit at a table. After sitting there for 15 minutes with no server checking on us, I flagged someone down and stated we need drinks and would like to order food. Ten minutes after our order I overheard the table beside us talking to their waitress about how they ordered over 30 minutes ago and wondered if their food was coming soon or if they needed to leave. This wasn't a good sign. It took about 30-35 minutes from the time we ordered until our food arrived.
Once the food did get to us, I have to admit it was pretty good. We had small pizza and an order of chicken wings. The wings were tiny but very tasty. The pizza isn't quite New Haven, but it's very good for where it is.
As I said above, this is the second time dining at Porky's. I didn't leave a review about the slow service the first time because hey, everyone has an off night once in a while. But when it's 2 out of 2, I have to say something. Advice to management: You'd have a GREAT place if you could work on the service. The food is great, but it's not worth it to deal with your...
Read moreFirst time ordering for Super Bowl, I do my due diligence by calling or finding formation first about ordering. I know they’re busy just I wanted to place a pick up order in advance to make it easier on them. They don’t take online orders on Super Bowl so I call, they don’t take orders through phone and I was told come in person for takeout. So I walk from my house to porkys because we just had a snowstorm and my car is front wheel drive. I get there, got told they don’t sell food downstairs or they’re just not open today downstairs, go upstairs. I go upstairs after a gentleman, sit at the bar, not a hi or hello from women in red shirt long dark black hair blue eyes, wasn’t busy either. But after she got the gentle men who walked in before me order, a group of men walk in and guess who bartender attends first. So I didn’t feel welcomed at all not even hey just give me a second I’ll be right with you and when I finally get her attention I get told they’re not selling food. I just came from downstairs, telling me if I want to eat wings go upstairs. So I go back downstairs and let them know they said no food for them to say oh yea sorry we didn’t let the lady know who told you go upstairs. I felt amazing leaving porkys ! Really let down as I would come here before Super Bowl and it’s like I’m sorry I don’t have a group of men yelling walking in with me to seem like good potential customers. I wanted 30 wings and was going to leave a $50 for bill and tip but guess it’s...
Read moreFirst time here.
Pros- great wings, excellent Philly Cheesesteak.
Cons- service was abysmal (was not busy). They could make so much more money if they would actually come to the tables to ask if we wanted another drink. Constantly had to ask the runner to send our waitress over as she disappeared after taking an order. If you want to see great service and your beer refilled before you even finish it then take a look at Cover 2 in Newtown.
Asked for extra blue cheese when ordering, never came. Could not get another one because (see above).
Asked for a beer menu, was told they don’t have one. When I asked what beers they have you would have thought I asked her the square root of 5000.
This place is obviously doing fine, but If they could straighten out the service they would make a lot more money. The impression I got was that they couldn’t care less if you ever...
