The good: the atmosphere was nice with local artist paintings on the wall and the bathrooms are clean. The bad: waited at least half an hour; went inside there was a family of 4 in front of us I thought no big deal, they messed up some of their drinks and re made them. I don’t know how 2 sandwiches and 4 drinks take that long. No one in the drive through on a Sunday morning.
The ugly: staff was very rude, short and snapped at us because I laughed at a joke they made with the people in front of us. We ordered two drinks and they forgot the drip coffee twice and kept asking “ is that it?”, like no we had two drinks for two people. Made the mistake of buying a bag of coffee because I thought the Brazil Serra negra smelled good. Got to the car and tasted the drip coffee and gagged, I don’t know what is wrong but it tasted old and burnt. The six shot espresso thing was drinkable because they drowned it in chocolate. The bag of coffee really does smell good but does not taste good and leaves a bad after taste like maybe the in house roasting machine need a...
Read moreDecided to visit cedar grove coffee house on Sunday Dec 29th because I love to support local coffee shops. walked in and was greeted quite blandly which is generally fine, however, as my MIL and I were figuring out what we wanted, we watched a grown man (presumably the owner) raising his voice and talking down to the 20 something year old girl working with him behind bar for making a drink incorrectly. He was talking down to her in a condescending tone that nobody deserves to deal with. as a 20 something year old girl myself and fellow coffee shop manager, it is pretty gross to see this kind of behavior. There is a right way to correct employees and this was not it. I felt very bad for the girl and I hope she gets out of that job. We also saw the man wipe his nose with his hand in the middle of making drinks and decided we'd take our business elsewhere. I really hope this girl finds a better place to work where she doesn't get treated like this. I hate to see a local coffee business go downhill, but this is not how you are going to keep...
Read moreFor context, I like to go to a coffee shop every weekend and sit for an hour or two sipping a cup of coffee and surfing the internet. I have two normal spots depending on how far I want to drive but this weekend I decided to branch out and try Cedar Grove Coffee House instead. It may be my new number one.
They have coffee and food selections, but I only tried the white chocolate mocha today. Another day I will get a grilled cheese. My drink was fantastic, very sweet how I like it, and price was on par with other coffee shops. You order at the counter, they make it, and you pay when they give it to you as opposed to when you order it.
There are tables as well as armchairs and plenty of outlets. Wifi password is shown on the back wall for those who need it. It wasn't crowded on a Saturday afternoon. It was also just off I65. I live in Okolona and it was a thirteen minute drive, so not bad and plenty of parking.
Overall, great spot....
