Senor Max's — Restaurant in Sheridan Township

Years ago, we used to drive to Watertown for special occasion to treat ourselves to Senor Max; I was so excited to return for lunch today. Once navigating through the video lottery machines and people playing them, I seated myself. Chips and salsa are not free, so I just ordered a lunch seafood enchilada. Rice & beans are not included so I added “Spanish” rice and beans. The enchilada was @ 3” long. The seafood was mushy and the enchilada was covered in a cream of chicken-like sauce. There was no taste to any of it. The ice cream scoop of beans came on one plate; the scoop of rice came on another. A red gravy was poured over each. They gravy had ground beef in it which wasn’t in the description, so I had to send it back as I can’t eat red meat. The waitress was attentive and very nice, but the meal was BEYOND disappointing. *Editing my initial review from yesterday as management promptly replied this morning stating that we had a new server. The issues my table had were a result of this and management was quick to respond on here to try to make things right. I appreciate this as I too manage in the service industry and understand the process of training a new employee. Glad to be able to bring the issue to your attention and will remove my original comments as they will be addressed internally and should not be a reason to discourage others from trying a local favorite.

Pretty sure this was the worst dining experience of my life when it comes to dining in Watertown. The food was horrible, like we shouldn’t have ate it. I mean I too can open a can of chicken, put it into a hard taco shell, add cheese and lettuce, and nuke it. The enchiladas were really bad as well. I cannot believe I just paid for this food. The service was a saving point. Nice and friendly service, but the food was really bad. I will not be back. I’m not one to leave negative reviews, but this is like a public service announcement.
