Within 30 seconds of walking into Area 51, my group was disrespected in a way that was not only unprofessional but downright dehumanizing. One of my friends, who is a woman and happens to present more masculine, went to use the restroom — and the doorman ran full speed into the women’s bathroom to confront her. Not only was this completely inappropriate and humiliating, but when he came back out, he laughed about it with other staff and regulars like it was some kind of joke.
We decided to leave immediately, but as we were trying to exit, staff told us to “get out” like we were the problem. One man even put his hands on my friends, physically trying to push us out — completely crossing the line and making what was already a horrible experience even worse.
This bar clearly fosters a culture of discrimination and disrespect, especially toward queer people and anyone who doesn’t fit their narrow ideas of how people “should” look. If you’re LGBTQ+, or honestly just a decent human being, do yourself a favor and stay far away...
Read moreThey stay open amd serving food till 5am every day. Plus in my book due to my schedule. I had wings amd it was not how I prefer them which is crispy amd posed in sauce or dry rub. So I call them soggy wings that I had. The service is decent for two bartenders serving the whole establishment. They don't have a "full bar" according to my standards. They can make any drink as long as the mixer is soda. Lol. But they cater to the audience at hand I suppose. Pool tables amd parcheesi (sorry board game) built into the tables. And through a door am entirely other bar for live music, although it's usually closed except for Friday night karaoke from my experience. Not bad, I say check it out, it's not a rough and tumble type...

Great venue! There are two sides, the bar side is smoking and the music side is non-smoking. Bar staff and patrons are all super nice and friendly. Very accomodating for artists and production team.
Only reason for 4 stars is because of indoor smoking. The smell on clothes and personal items, just after a few minutes on the regular side of the venue is tough to handle and will last for days sometimes.
LightCamp provided ambient lighting services for the 5/13/22 event "Now That's What I Call Wubs" with Starwalker Productions, check out the awesome setup below!
