March 6 2019 around 7 pm not busy, walked in and hostess asked if a table was ok and we said we prefer a booth. She said only tables are available.I pointed a booth out and she said that area had a party in that area. Ok how bout this one?she said oh we have a party coming over here too.Whatever!I don't get it why these places act like they have no seats when you can see they have booths all over the place !After being seated we sat several minutes waiting on someone to take our drink order.then several more minutes go by before our waitress takes our order.then when food comes salads were wrong, dipping sauce was wrong.paid bill on kiosk then waitress asked if we wanted receipt which we did.we waited and waited. Wife asked again for receipt.waited some more.then wife asked again for receipt.when she brought it she threw it on the table and walked off.probably cause there was no tip but don't care she didn't deserve a tip.when we walked out we told the three hostesses we would not be back and the male host said that's ok and I said hope we didn't ruin the party which never showed up where we wanted the booth table..and these are people who want $15.00 per hour?!!!!we won't be back.this way you will hopefully have an open booth for the next customers but oh yes only if there's no party goin on. Horrible...
Read moreOrdered an online take out and it took significantly longer than the estimated ready time with no update or anything. I believe bit over 30 min after the estimated time.
The biggest gripe however is that I requested silverware when I ordered and even on the order ticket, it has silverware circled with pen. You know what though, no freaking silverware. This simply shows that workers don’t care. Hilarious.
When I walked in to get my silverware—funny since doing curbside is so that you don’t have to go in—there were no one there to assist. There were workers there, but since they were so busy, no one came up or would make eye contact so I can ask what I need and get outta there. I was joking, the restaurant was not thy busy.
I still remember the guy in cheesy business attire, which I think was the manager would quickly make 90 degree turn not to make eye contact knowing there were 3 people waiting by the podium lol. I say If you don’t want to do your job, quit. It’s simple as that. Now I think of it, there’s probably a reason why I haven’t been to Applebees in years. I just didn’t have many choices since I was here on a business trip.
As for the food, the steak was very chewy, but the mash was alright.
Pls get your team organized and have them do their job better bc people are paying good...
Read moreThis was actually our third choice for dinner this evening...I don't remember why the first 2 choices fell through but in a happy turn of events our meals were great. Not a busy night for the chain store, and we were seated quickly. I chose the new skillet duo of chicken cheddar and bacon over mashed potatos. My dining companion (MDC) had the chicken and shrimp over the mashed potatoes. It was all quite goid. The chicken seasoning was incredibly flavorful without being put on with a heavy hand and MDC shrimo was cooked just right (not easy in a fast casual setting). My only complaint was the mashed potatoes being advertised as garlic and with the skin-on red new potatoes, and they were rather bland. Nothing special about them and in the future I will probably order the fries. The wait staff was friendly and fas and I never had to wait for a soda refill. Rarely do we finish our entire meals but in this case we managed to eat almost everything. The puppies had to go without their usual leftovers. We haven't been back to an Appleby's since 2010 when they closed the location on Ludwig dr. In Fairview Heights. I am definitely pleased we did come back as the food seems on a bit higher level of sophistication with an updated menu that they...
