Everything was great, we ordered the zombie latte and a coconut iced matcha latte, their syrups are really good, the atmosphere and interior design always puts us in a good mood and the staff was very friendly…..except the barista girl with the mullet/black hair. This was the first time my fiancée and I sat in to eat/drink, we were having a wonderful experience. I had ordered their honey bacon biscuit which I heard was really good and wanted to try it, we got our drinks right away when we sat down, and they give you this stand with a number on it so somebody can bring out your food and drinks if you’re sitting in. So we were waiting for the biscuit for about 30 minutes before we decided to go up to the counter and ask about it. They didn’t get a ticket for it. No biggie. We sat back down and by the time it came out, we had to go, so we asked the girl that brought it out, the one with the mullet, if she could bring us a box. Up to this point she was nice and told us it would be a minute. She brought out a couple of to-go cups instead and we asked if we could get a box for the biscuit, since that’s originally what we asked for. At this point, she basically turned around and rudely said “there’s boxes in the counter over there, I have other stuff to do, so you can go get it yourself”. Something along those lines. The problem wasn’t that we had to get the boxes, as I said, this was our first time sitting in so we didn’t know. It was the rude and unwelcoming way she said it, to the point that she turned around and my fiancée and I looked at each other, shocked at the way she had just spoken to me. This isn’t an entitled boomer writing this review. We’re both in our 20s and had worked in the food service industry for most of our working lives. Never have I ever experienced that. It wasn’t as busy as we’ve seen it before, and granted my fiancée did say he noticed she was also making drinks behind the bar, so I’m guessing they were understaffed that day. Boy do I hope she never takes up serving. If you’re reading this, I’m sorry you were having a bad day, I truly am. But that is no excuse to take it out on other people around you and be rude/ disrespectful. A simple “I’m a little busy right now, but we do have to go boxes in that area over there” would have sufficed. We were being very polite because there’s no reason we shouldn’t be, so there was really no reason for the rude treatment, it definitely soured our morning. Super unprofessional. Not expecting Starbucks or Chick fil a cheer or anything crazy, just...
Read moreAs a first time visitor, it felt uniquely popular and busy as a venue within our communities setting. I enjoy being in unique community atmospheres anywhere, but here they also had many wonderful available refinements. This might be your next cup of Java too, as you'll appreciate their many savory delights and indulgences. I was glad to see the variety of amazing looking and smelling coffees beans that were not oily covered flavor things. (Burr grinders understand this as a problem.) Having a variety of suitable if not subtle coffee beans available to purchase in store in 1 pound bags was just the right amount of selection for me as a fussy coffee bean person. Other coffee houses have been clearly different in prices and availability. I'm guessing Sunday's are always busy here as was today and I felt welcomed and greeted too. After being here I'd be shocked if everyone that's been here wouldn't tell you how amazing it is to eat and drink any of their amazing roasted coffees and pastries, including 1 of my FAV's, specialty cake Donuts! I hope to enjoy many of their espressos coffees, pastries and menu delights while enjoying the inside or outside atmosphere of this wonderful Ancora corner Cafe +...
Read moreStarting right when you walk in, this place is THE. CUTEST. It's like dining inside of a Pinterest board, complete with wood beams topped with plants, hand painted murals, and a built in garage door wall that opens onto a cute little patio. The wide selection of crafted coffee drinks are delightful, (GET THE MIEL IT'S SOO GOOD, also lavender lemonade so fresh), and their rotating selection of brewed drip coffees keep things interesting day to day. They also have killer house made bloodies and mimosas (with fresh-squeezed oj or strawberry oj!). This is the first Ancora with a full kitchen and menu, and it is ridiculous. It's the kind of menu that makes you want to post up and just eat all of your meals there through the day. To name a few things I can't get over - lamb shank hash, veggie benedict (complete with cauliflower steak instead of an english muffin, I mean come on), and the basil chicken salad sandwich. To top it off, the staff is extraordinarily friendly, and the service is excellent. The front of house staff always greets you with a smile to start your day off right, and food flies out of the kitchen. Just...
