We showed up an hour before they closed and they were super friendly & willing to help us. You order at the counter and pay when ordering. It was a little cold in there, but clean.
We ordered the fried mushrooms as an app, and they were kind enough to throw some fried ravioli on the plate after my son did the puppy dog eyes at me. The mushrooms were good, and my son loved the fried ravioli. I loved the breading, but didn’t care for the cheese filling, but that was a preference thing, it tasted fine, I’m just not a cheese ravioli person.
My husband had the meatball parm sub and said it was good as was the fries & coleslaw. I had the fettuccine Alfredo & added a piece of grilled chicken. It came with a side salad & I chose the house Italian. My salad was lacking, it seemed like I got nothing but the heart of the lettuce as I had very little green, but the house (Italian, which is homemade) was good. The grilled chicken was nothing to write home about, but the Alfredo was AMAZING!! I would highly recommend it over and over again to anyone who asked. My son said the lasagna rivaled mine, so I felt that was a great compliment and I do make a pretty good lasagna. Our meal was $63 before tip and I felt it was worth the cost.
Garlic bread came complimentary for the table to share & it was very yummy. They were even kind enough to give us a second loaf, which we brought home. I couldn’t eat all my pasta as there was so much, but I can’t wait to have it for lunch tomorrow. We will definitely be back. I hope they have calamari when we do as they were out.
The employees were very kind & I believe it was the chef who stood at the front & talked to us when we ordered. She was training a new person but they were both so kind & willing to chat with us.
If you get a chance to go, please do! They are not a chain restaurant, or a Mexican restaurant which seems to be the norm for Shreveport. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you stop...
Read moreI've done hundreds of restaurant reviews. Most have had an essence of individual character and appeal. This restaurant lacked these qualities and was a disappointment.
Walked in and it felt like the AC was out. Very uncomfortable. Not a great start. No signage leading to the bathroom. Ended up in the supply room before someone told me where it was. Easy fix.
Environment: When we sat down we were told that we had 5 minutes to order before the kitchen closed. We walked in at 6:40p. The hours posted said they were open till 8:00 pm. We were told that there was a last-minute change due to some issue with the owners. Don't understand that at all. Isn't that what managers are for? Advise the nice waitress that the hours online and on the door or wrong. I would expect at least a temporary sign to indicate the change of hours. No sign. Nobody seemed to hear the doordash alarm on the tablet go off for 10 minutes. What a mood killer.
Food: We quickly ordered the appetizer sampler which consisted of onion rings, fried mushrooms, and fried ravioli. It all tasted like it came out of a bag instead of being freshly made. We have the chicken and shrimp parmesan as our entrees. The marinara had no flavor. It tasted like it came from a generic can at Walmart. The bread was soggy and even though it had parmesan cheese and seasoning, it was bland and not warm.
We did not enjoy our experience. It's our hope that they get their act together and improve on the food, the environment, signage, and the...
Read moreWe ordered the fettuccine with blackened chicken, cheese, sticks, and a salad.. being a new business means working out some “bugs” our waitress was on her second day and she busted butt, so kuddos to her. The staff in the kitchen were busy too. As with new business and new popularity comes that learning curve of timing and we waited for our meal for almost an hour. It was good though when it arrived. The place is fairly small and the table and chairs are really meant for like an ice cream shop or outside patio setting -not comfortable enough to be seated in for an hour plus. I hope as time goes they change out the chairs and tables to something more inviting and comfortable. Also the way the entrance is to the tables you feel the cold air each time someone comes and goes, so bring your sweaters ladies. My food was getting cold fast as I tried eating it as fast as I could, which kind of takes away from the enjoyment of the dining out experience. Maybe booths would be better along the walls for one comfort and two protecting from the draft? Wishing them...
