BIG APPLE SHREWSBURY — Restaurant in Shrewsbury

What seemed like a decent place to have a meal turned out to be a disaster. Stood at the front cue for 6 mins while the waitresses walked right past without acknowledging the 3 sets of patrons waiting to be seated. it wasn't until I asked if we can seat ourselves that one responded. Then it took another forever for someone to come over to ask what we would like to drink. The slow service was followed by terrible, salty food. The hot chocolate was cold. Just a terrible experience. When they came to close the visit, I was asked if they should box the food. I responded no, because it was terrible. The waitress looked at the full plate and never even offered assistance to the bill for something that I said was terrible. My summary here...

Beautiful restaurant! The front windows open completely on nice days, the dining room is clean and modern, and they also have outdoor seating! The menu has all the breakfast classics, but also has lots of unique choices if you're like me and looking for something you can't get everywhere else. I got a breakfast club, which was essentially a turkey club with an egg instead of turkey. It was HUGE- piled high with fresh ingredients. The fruit cup was also incredibly fresh! I took half of my sandwich home and it was just as good for lunch! Wait staff was attentive and kind, coffee was fresh and refilled regularly- can't say enough...

I think the food and service are great. It is just very annoying to see the news on every second that you are there though. It tends to be news that leans politically right too (at least in the three times I have been there), and I feel like this says a lot about how the owner stands politically. It makes me not want to eat here and if you feel the same as me about the horrid state of everything, maybe you should reconsider...
