They put about as much care into the food as they did picking the name of the restaurant. The inside looks sad, when you walk in you know you’re not getting something good. The decor, if you can call it that, is like 90s mediocre fast food restaurant. The color choices inside are uninspiring. Everything looks cheap and old, like no one cared about setting this place up to look nice.
Even with all the obvious warnings I said what the heck I’m here already so I tried it, and meh… it was extremely whatever. There’s nothing particularly healthy about anything on the menu. There’s nothing particularly tasty either. The selection is small and every choice is boring. You basically pick a style of sandwich and that determines the veggies/sauce, then you pick a meat and they just throw that meat in with that sauce. They also have your standard salads that look like they belong in a plastic container in the ready to eat section of a gas station.
Unfortunately it’s also kinda dirty, like someone cleans up every day but no one deep cleans every month kinda dirty. This place desperately needs a scrub down.
With such prime real estate and great competition nearby I can’t see how this place is surviving but it’s been here long enough, if it was going to fail it surely would’ve by now. I hope they up their game or let someone else do something nice...
Read moreReally good sandwiches, soups, wraps and smoothies, all with vegetarian/vegan options or chicken, turkey, tri-tip, or tuna options for omnivores. Very popular but service is fast even when busy. Dine in or carry out, they have tables for two to four and a small counter facing the window. Salads are really good, and huge, you won't be hungry. The smoothies are healthy - so no added sugar, I guess, so they taste like fruit, not ice cream. The coconut curry soup is very good. Not sure what's up with the gold wallpaper, that's a bit odd, but I still love this place and will be back often. Really glad there is a quick healthy option....
Read moreI’ve visited Something Healthy in Monrovia a few times and enjoyed their yummy food. Was very excited to try out this Sierra Madre place. It was great! If you want something fried, no greens, lots of caffeine, then don’t come here. But if you’re in the mood for delicious, fresh and yes, healthy, food, fun and different drinks to try out, dining in one of the cleanest places you’ll have ever encountered, and still leave with money in your account because the prices are reasonable…then definitely visit this cafe.
