Who is going to this place willingly? Jesus. No flavor and the meat was fighting back. It was not tender and I had to disappoint my host by telling them it fell flat on everything. Chips and salsa should’ve been the key indicator that this place was going to disappoint my tastebuds. I had the beef fajitas and a margarita. Additionally I was expecting a good strong margarita but again my hopes were dashed. Their only saving grace was our waitress. She was supper helpful navigating such a large group. Extremely professional, a 10 out of 10 on being a top tier waitress. Other guest had complaints on their dishes lacking taste/spices. If you enjoy throwing your money in the wind and don’t care about flavor then this place is for you.

Great food ! We’ve came here a couple of times & each time we come we get the best service from Nicholas. He is very kind, friendly, and gives his customers the best service. He is fast & makes sure you get attended correctly . Other waitress take too long or don’t look to make sure everything is okay. Nicholas was always around making sure everyone he passed was well served & that is the only reason I’m giving this restaurant 5 stars if it weren’t for him I would have probably done my first 3 star review. Make sure when you come to Casa Del Rey to ask Nicholas to be your server !

Nice spot with great outdoor seating and ambiance. Hanging lights. Nice view of the mountain backdrop when seated outside. Great service. The chips and salsa were delicious. I ordered the Chile Verde. I liked the flavors of the dish, the only problem was that the Chile Verde and the rice were very bland. I ended up salting the two items. Overall an excellent restaurant.

This is my favorite restaurant!! I love this cute little Mexican eatery in the charming town of Sierra Madre. Situated in the gently rolling foothills beside Pasadena, it's hard to beat such a beautiful location. I usually eat inside, because I like the feel of the booths. But on occasion, it's nice to eat outside and watch the people strolling by! The place is not very large, so I like to eat early in the afternoon or late at night, when the crowd is less.

The food is super! Their tortilla chips are the best I've tasted, and the salsa is wonderful. If you feel brave, ask for the special habanero salsa, and they will let you have a try - it's HOT!!

I always order my favorite dish - beef enchiladas with rice and beans. It's a very common entre, but the taste is what keeps bringing me back time and time again.

This restaurant has a tiny bar, but that isn't too bad since there are TVs which usually show our local sports teams in action. Surprisingly, the margaritas that come out of this small bar are SECOND TO NONE! Honestly, I have not had a better margarita anywhere else in the world. So Casa del Rey is the champion in this regard. I don't know how they do it, but they should get an award for their margarita creations!

And in concluding, I must credit the honorable staff. Everyone is so nice and friendly and they give great service. So I give this Mexican restaurant my highest...

I have always really enjoyed this restaurant, and the food and service have always been great. This last visit was awful. I took my dad for a meal and we arrived at 5:40in the evening in time for happy hour, and we sat for over half an hour before anyone came and took our order, (which I had to go to the front deck and tell them we had been sitting for that long) several other tables that had been seated about 15-20 minutes after us had drink orders taken and were served before we had anyone check on us. Once I had told the young man at the front, then our server came and took our order. Our drinks finally came, and our food arrived over 35 minutes later. I requested another drink at that time our food had been brought to our table and once we got our drinks and salsa we didn’t see our server a single time after and it had been at minimum another hour. I had told get up and ask for boxes and our check from the young man at the front again. Our server never came to check our table a single time during our visit. She was very prompt with our...

I have been eating at Casa Del Rey for years, My daughter was 7 and my son 5 and a 1/2. I have never gotten gotten bad food regardless of if it was take out or we ate there. I have been to the one on los tunas many times, The one in Arcadia on Baldwin and even had my parents's anniversary dinner there. I have been eating at Sierra Madre since it opened. I have never had food like tonight. The Healthy Chicken Salad, it was Healthy OK because there was not much to it. Had to search for the rice, And the chicken, It was like the prices have gone up but the quantity of food you getIs less. We have gotten taken out many times and never have experienced this. The chicken, the riceThe salad overall had no flavor this time. My husband ordered a 1 Enchilada meal, It wasn't a smaller container also and and more like eating a kids meal. And again we have gotten taken out many times and this has never happened. Very very disappointed. At least he ( my husband) had good service when placing the...
