Oh, don't go to this place! It was good once, years ago, but now it is the worst. We went in and it was so loud in there, we took a quick left to a small room off the main. There was a wall next to our table where someone behind it was pounding and banging on something throughout our meal, and if it hadn't been so ridiculous it would have been aggravating. It took so long for our food to come that we considered leaving. Who works in that kitchen? I don't even know how they were able to serve me one egg way overcooked, and the other so runny it was clear, and the hashbrowns barely cooked at all. My husband had the waffles, and they tasted like cardboard. I tried to have a bite but my fork wouldn't even cut through the thing!
The waitress came by and I had to point these things out, and then (possibly the manager?) Melanie came to us, but she was at the wrong table and asked if we were the folks that had been here before and had the same complaints this time. We said, no, we had not been there before but we certainly had complaints. She said she would happily take 50% off the bill, and I said, no, no, I think we shouldn't have to pay anything for bad food, and she agreed, and then went to the next table that had to be comped as well. It must be so humiliating to work there. We came home and I made a nice breakfast, which really isn't that hard to do, ffs.
I should mention too, as so many others have, that we watched other tables come and go as we sat and waited for our food. Perhaps if they only want to serve their online ordering crowd, they might close their doors to the public and do the rest of us a favor. You might try Cafe Ole just down the road. They are friendly, the food is good, and they are quick.
By the way, Landmark, don't bother to apologize and invite us back. There is no way on earth we would return. I just hope I don't get sick...
Read moreYou know I would like to give this place -5 Stars, there was literally nothing about the place...that I could say anything worthwhile about. We arrived, no one greeted us, open tables here and there and as many a waitress walked by...not a one welcomed us. Stood there with our party of 5, another group came in and walked right to a table and sat themselves. Still unsure of what to do, a couple in a booth by the door saw us standing there with an obvious look of confusion and they informed us that we could seat ourselves at any of the open tables or even the dirty ones...though we'd probably be wating at least 45 min for service. So, given the reviews...we thought it might be worth the wait. I'm sorry to say...I'd wished we'd just gone off to Denny's?! I'm all for supporting local businesses...unfortunately, this one needs a lesson in customer service. I watched many a server congregating together, talking and using their cell phones while tables sat dirty and guests sat wondering if their food was ever going to arrive. I kid you not...it took over 2 1/2 hrs to have a breakfast...that made field chow, look like 5 star dining. It took another 15 min, just to pay the bill...with graduations opening back up, do yourself a favor and avoid this place...
Read moreThe hubby and I came in the Sunday before Christmas, which we should have known better. Honestly, everything was ok (not great, just ok), except the service. Our server didn't acknowledge us for about 15 minutes, at which point she brought two glasses of water and took our orders (including a tea and a soda). She then disappeared again for 15-20 minutes before bringing our drinks to the table. Another server brought our food out after we'd been there for 40 minutes. The only other time we saw our server, or that anyone even acknowledged us, was when our server came back and half-heartedly apologized for ignoring us the whole time. I get that it was busy, but check on your tables from time to time and communicate with them. We were seconds away from walking out (and leaving cash on the table for the drinks) when our mediocre food came out. Not a pleasant experience. Will not have lunch there again.
More details: as we were sitting at the second booth inside the front door, we overheard staff asking the folks in the first booth to move half-way through their meals, because someone had reserved that table. We thought this was extremely unprofessional and discourteous. Also, the taco salad was so obnoxiously greasy. My husband enjoyed his...
