Mr Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Simi Valley

This was my first visit. I had the chicken. It was very tasty. They gave me a few of the breast pieces. They were not dry like so many are. They were plump & juicy. I also ordered the side of mushrooms. These were a little different than what I was expecting. They're like whole mushrooms wrapped in wonton wrappers and then fried. They were good but definitely sharable. The side order was large and a few will satisfy your taste for them. They came with a sauce that I did not use. I think it was ranch but not sure. If you looking for good fried chicken they also have fish and shrimp. I have not tried those yet but my brother was visiting from Alaska a few weeks ago and found them because he was specifically looking for fish and chips. He said the fish was excellent. I would normally get the broasted chicken here. The restaurant has changed hands, so they no longer offer broasted chicken. They suggested the chicken fillets , so I tried them. Ì'm sorry to say, they were horrible. They were super thin and deep-fried in a tempura batter. They litterely had no taste. All you could taste was the tempura batter, which, to me, was weird for chicken. The owner was extremely sweet. I saw the fish someone else had gotten. It looked really good, but I don't know. I may go back and try the fish, but I definitely do not recommend...

A friend & I have been to this place many times over the last year.

We have really liked the food & the service has always been very good. The owner is polite & attentive.

The reason for 2 stars is because our most recent visit took a turn for the worse. We placed our order & when our items were brought out, some of the food fell onto the table. Instead of discarding those items, the owner placed them back onto the plate. I didn't eat anything from that plate. It was gross & inappropriate.
