So my brotha from anotha motha hit me up on Labor Day. Asking what I was doing and me having reviews to report. I suddenly got thrown back to my High School days and I have homework to do because it is all due tomorrow. I know it has no due date, it just keeps what I’m reviewing relevant. So here we are I love sushi, in my young days,I would not give it the time of day. But thank god my taste bud it came to it senses. No pun intended. So aside from rant. Sake 2 me is good I’m not gonna lie the service was fast. I would say faster than some fast food places. It’s sushi for good sakes and work of art. This place serves Pepsi. I know some how it’s a thing and if they don’t have coke it’s not a place to be. But don’t go here for the coke. Go for the sushi. They got other thing to drink. At first, when you sit down you’re greeted with a little plate with two chips and some type of fish and dressing. Very presentable. The taste was good it opened the taste bud to what was to come. If you think about it is brave to do. Sit down and try this out. Like when you go to a good ice cream shop and they give you a spoon full of ice cream. Well it’s a little spoon, but still. But sushi to do it, how do you know what I like? Mr. Guy, dude, man or sushi guru for the lack of a better title. I added the photos to proudly show the gourmet. Frankly, just seeing the pictures makes me wanna go back. The tempura was crunchy and when it got to the table it was hot. The fish tasted fresh. I don’t really like cream cheese and there is some rolls that had cream cheese. I will say they know how much to add. Enough to make it creamy but not enough to over power what your eating. I have to admit those were sentences that were hard to write without being innuendos. But trust me keeping it food wise was hard. Especially cause all the jokes would be on me. But, it has to be noted that they know what there doing. Being from a Mexican background when they say spicy. We expect the blood of the thing from “alien”. I got to admit I got hungry when I saw the scene. From the movie, I wanted momma’s guacamole. Call me a fat boy. So back to sushi if you call it spicy make sure it spicy. Not the jalapeños that act like real jalapeños that when an adult bites it they feel accomplished because they ate some jalapeno pieces and they conquered the heat. No ma boy it’s got to be so hot you can actually call it a right of passage. A spiritual awakening that you can feel your soul leaving your body as it clawing it way back into you through your bowels. Those who have experienced it know what I am talking about. I will cut them major slack because it sushi and you got to taste all the food. Not like the savages who eat with their hands and put meat on a tortilla and devour a whole carcass. Sushi is of course way more refined. What I will tell you that they offer a sushi roll called the Mexican. I didn’t try it cause my food has to be hotter than Mexican candy. This is a place that makes good food and would recommend it to anyone who like sushi. I would like to actually try sushi from Japan so I can tell the difference between Taco Bell sushi and real sushi. Not implying or saying this is fake as I don’t have that knowledge. So much in fact that I would travel from the valley to Simi valley for sushi. Sake 2 me for sure put a pin on the map for go to fresh. Try them out do the all you can eat. You won’t be disappointed but make sure you bring...

Used to be our go-to spot, but no longer due to an unfortunate customer experience on Mother's Day. Surprisingly, despite it being Mother's Day, the restaurant wasn't that busy.

As it's our mom's favorite place, we decided to celebrate Mother's Day at Sake 2 Me Sushi. We went right after lunch, before the dinner crowd, to avoid the rush.

We ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi, except for one person who opted for a bento box. We specifically requested for all our food to be served at the same time, including the bento box.

Our waiter, who also happened to be the owner, seemed confused by this request. Despite explaining that we wanted to eat together as a family, he mentioned having limited chefs and seemed reluctant to accommodate us. We ASSURED him we were willing to wait.

However, the bento box arrived well before the sushi. We waited patiently for the rest of the food, which took another 15-20 minutes. When the owner noticed I hadn't started eating, I explained again that I was waiting for everyone's food. By then, the bento box was cold.

When I pointed this out, the owner responded with attitude, suggesting I should feel guilty for requesting a fresh meal. He made it very clear that it was going to be thrown away in the trash & accommodating our request was a burden, making us feel uncomfortable in front of the entire restaurant on Mother's Day.

This experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We made our SIMPLE REQUEST clear FROM THE BEGINNING, yet we were made to feel unwelcome and guilty. We left upset, but STILL TIPPED GENEROUSLY to make it clear that we are, and were, customers with simple requests.

Since then, every time we want sushi, we avoid Sake 2 Me Sushi due to the disrespectful service we experienced.

We used to love Sake 2 Me Sushi, but this experience has completely changed our perception. No longer coming...

Have been coming to this location since our family moved back to the san fernando valley. Before that we had been a frequent customer to the location in Tustin. Same restaurant, but I guess under different ownership. But, the menu is the same. Lunch menu is always great, and the only difference between the lunch and dinner menu is just a few things. Dinner menu, you can order halibut sushi (1 order per person (2 pieces)), Sweet shrimp (1 order per person (1 piece)), Tamago. I think that's the only difference. I wish they had an oyster shooter. That would've been really good, but oh well. Parking is indeed a challenge, and usually it's super busy at night. Beware, when it gets busy.... the wait is a bit long. For the price for an AYCE is pretty good. They allow you to order 3 rounds. Unfortunately when we come here with my brother.. he orders small portions.. and wished we had a 4th round. But, how much can you eat an AYCE before you are satisfied. What to order?? I Love the Rolly Polly Roll which is imitation crab meat wrapped with salmon with some siracha on top. As for sushi.. I love salmon, peppered salmon, peppered tuna, tamago, sweet shrimp (dinner), Halibut (dinner), tuna, shrimp tempura (comes in a basket with dipping sauce), regular tempura (which comes with the veggie and one shrimp tempura and dipping sauce), and of course some miso. If I am in the mood, I will order a beer.

The vibe here is really nice. There are big screen t.v's that display the sports games. The inside decor is very nice with some Japanese decor. Inside the restaurant is dim lighting but makes the eating experience quite nice. The service is very good. Sometimes the orders can be so overwhelming, that they will forget to give you what you've ordered. The bathrooms are clean and so as the restaurant. Nothing to complain...

AYCE #sushi in the valley. I go out of my way for this place since it is simple and cheap but always looking for new places in the #LosAngeles metro area. Where is your go-to AYCE sushi joint in LA?
