I will start out by saying my husband and I have lived in Simi for 20 years, the first 15 in an apartment in Wood Ranch. We happened to buy our first house within walking distance from PC'S. We suffered a house fire at the end of April. Heartbreaking. On the second day of cleaning I needed a cocktail desperately and hubs suggested PCS. Never been there before and honestly was apprehensive about it, but the necessity for a drink asap won and I agreed. Upon entering I must admit I was still a little unsure. We sat at the bar. Ordered me a Tangearay tini, hubs a draft. Tini-perfect! I was pleased. Then we realized we were hungry. Um? Food? Unsure again. Started with the Green chili cheese fries. BEST CHILI CHEESE FRIES I HAVE EVER HAD! Hands down, no comparison. Hubs had Philly cheese steak. THE MOST TENDER AND FLAVORFUL BEEF! He loved it and gave me a bite. I wanted to eat the whole thing! The bartender was busy but still paid adequate attention to us. The visit there the second night after the fire put the first smile only face since the disaster. Three days later we went again. Sat at a table this time as the barstools were full. Jessica waited on us. I have to tell all of you that she is the most personable and attentive person we've had wait on us in years. Funny, smart, and quick! Knew what we wanted before we did! Ordered the Green Chili Cheese Fries again, still UNBELIEVABLE! Now it's been almost a month since the fire. The people we have met there are nothing but true, honest and caring for their fellow PCS patrons. So do I recommend this place? Yes. This place is the only ray of sunshine in my cleaning, scrubbing, painting, washing, drywall hanging days, and I am beyond...
Read morePC'S has a welcoming feel and friendly staff. The owner is a long time local resident along with many of her staff. They take pride in their service, cleanliness, entertainment, and do their best to serve quality food and beverages at affordable prices. It is always a good sign when the staff will choose to frequent their work environment on their day off. You may not see this upon your first visit, but over time, everyone one will know your name. If there are any concerns about speed or service, I would just say, that if you go on a busy night, expect the service to be a little slower. Many times the servers/bar tenders know people. Their guests will want to talk with them as many have become friends over the years. If you have this understanding, my advice would be to communicate in advance with the staff member serving you. Tell them what you would like to eat/drink, and how frequently you would like them to check in with you. That way if you are new, they can learn your ordering habits. Many of the return customers have fond memories of the establishment, it's owner, and the people who represent it's extended family. It's a fun place, casual, attracts a wide range of ages, and will eventually become a place you will enjoy hanging...
Read moreThis is one of the best "Hole In The Wall" local bars in Simi! Very affordable drinks, decent food and friendly servers and atmosphere.
I was quickly greeted by a friendly food and drink server who took my drink order and left a menu to peruse. I was served my ice cold beer (domestic $3.75) and placed my order for a grilled ham and cheese sandwich ($8 or $9) which comes with fries. Bread was toasted nicely and the cheese was melted but the ham was a little bit cold. Probably should have had a few seconds on the griddle to warm up the ham slice(s) before being folded over and placed in the sandwich. Fries were golden, crisp and tasty.
Definitely worth coming here, and if it hadn't been for the cold ham I'd have rated them 5 stars, keeping in mind that they are so good in so many other areas and truly are admirable for a local no frills...
