We saw Frankie's Food Truck parked outside of Brewery Legitimus in New Hartford and pulled into the parking lot to check it out. The truck turned out to be Simsbury's Old Well Tavern's mobile food service, as we chatted with the owner inside. A snow squall had just passed through so there was icy snow everywhere, but two beefy hot dogs and fresh hot french fries he tossed in a bowl with salt, warmed us right up. Inquiring who ran the restaurant when he was manning the truck, he said he has a good staff that does a great job running the place when he's out. Good to know. A nice treat we ate all of in the car.
An impromptu request on a Friday asked friends to get together here for some food, drinks and conversation. This restaurant was not on my radar, so we chose to participate even though I was tired from mowing my lawn. Glad casual dress works here.
A really big space with pool tables, bar and barbecue food, it has its regulars. BBQ is always an incentive for my partner. Sitting down with our group, the Burnt Endz starter was recommended to us. We tried this and the Cajun Garlic Parmesan wings special. Both were satisfying. The wings flavor was a needed departure that delivered from the usual Buffalo style we order. The burnt ends were crispy on the outside, moist on the inside.
Mains were a full rack of bourbon molasses glazed ribs with curly fries and Super Sliders, one of each variety - pulled pork, cheeseburger and Buffalo chicken. The favorite of the three sliders was the cheeseburger in terms of flavor, but it was a really small piece of meat. Mentioning this to the waitress, she said it's their most popular slider and why their hamburgers are so good.
Service disappeared after a couple of people paid their bills and left, so I went to the bar to get two more drinks and realized the bartender was our waitress, so she was busy with patrons seated there. The tab for us with cocktails, apps and entrées was higher than it would be for someone just ordering a beer and a sandwich. If in the area and in the mood for BBQ or something else from the menu, pool, or a drink at the bar,...
Read moreI came to watch the band All or Nothing... They charged a 10.00 dollar cover. We decided to come a little early and eat since they offered food. I have read many amazing reviews for this place but everything I ordered was not good at all. I tried their burnt ends and they were super dry in the middle. Like over cooked in a bad way. And I've had barbecue from all over and the sauce and how they tasted wasn't good. I also tried the soup of the day which was Bland and salty. And that I had potstickers which just tasted like they came from a food service. Our waitress at first the service was a little rocky but once we were sat and our orders were taken she was right on it. My friend ordered the sliders and she didn't really appreciate them at all. . Curly fries though that were served I tried some and they were good. But we really enjoyed the band All or Nothing they were worth the $10 admission. Maybe it was an off night. But the food...

When available paid the $5. 4 of us. … bought dinner and beers. After 3 hours bartender told us we had to rotate. Didn’t tell the guys Playing next to us who were already on a table when we arrived. In fact, we questioned the same bartender when we arrived and she told us we just had to wait for a table. They came over and locked up our table at the direction of the owner Frank. After talking with Frank directly, he said he was going to change the advertisement on his web page and told me I could have my $5 back. Just a great example of bait and switch and Treating us very rudely. I’ll never go back to this place again !!! You all need to learn some customer...
