My recent dining experience at Northern Lites deserves nothing less than a glowing five-star review. From the moment we stepped in, the warm and attentive staff set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
A special shoutout to our server, Jada, whose phenomenal service and extensive knowledge of the menu elevated our dining experience. Her recommendations, paired with genuine enthusiasm, added a personal touch to the evening.
What impressed me most was the owners' unwavering commitment to excellence, reflected in their "Get it right" business mindset. They actively seek feedback, fostering an environment where patrons feel valued and heard.
Northern Lites doesn't just offer a meal; it provides a genuine Louisiana food experience. The menu, a perfect blend of traditional favorites and innovative creations, showcases the essence of Cajun and Creole culinary traditions. The flavors burst with authenticity, transporting me to the heart of Louisiana.
Notably, the steak at Northern Lites is surprisingly good. Cooked to perfection, it's a delightful surprise on a menu already filled with standout options. The catfish and shrimp, in particular, rival many New Orleans favorites. Each bite is a testament to the chef's skill in capturing the authentic flavors that make Louisiana cuisine so special.
Beyond the delectable dishes, the ambiance at Northern Lites is inviting and versatile, catering to various preferences. Whether you seek a cozy spot for a romantic dinner or a lively venue to catch the game with friends, this establishment offers the perfect setting.
To the point, Northern Lites is a must-visit for those craving more than just a meal—a genuine Louisiana food experience. With exceptional staff, led by the knowledgeable Jada, receptive owners, and a menu that surprises and delights, this establishment stands out. The steak is a hidden gem, and the catfish and shrimp compete with the best in New Orleans. Five stars...
Read moreAfter little over a year of being established this has become a premier spot on the northshore and surrounding areas for the grown and sexy. 30+ means no fighting and no drugs!! I met a couple that came from as far as Daphne Alabama to experience what the locals call “the lites” first hand, so I no longer complain about my lil :10 minute drive. They told me they had been hearing about it and decided to come see. I recommend you to do the same!
The food is five star, whether it’s the brunch menu, the 9 different flavors of wings to choose from or the what should be famous Bussin’ burger!
The bar is split in half between 2-4 bartenders on a busy night so there’s little to no wait time to get a drink. The drinks aren’t watered down and the variety is endless. I’m not good with names and I’ve only been about 4 times but during brunch Lori Laura or Lauren (sorry if the name is wrong) is go recommend a summer breeze or the mango delight, two drinks that she created. They don’t miss and pairs well with the waffle sandwich or steak and eggs. Mix that with the sounds of DJ Redd and it’s a whole vibe.
Weekends are a lil different, I prefer the Sit Me Down drink or either the Slidellian that Ms. Chris makes. 2 of those and G7 on the 1’s & 2’s usually equates to a night of dancing, laughter and fun that you just don’t want to end. There’s plenty of seating and they have two younger ladies coming to you to take orders. Sorry I didn’t know your name ladies but you BOTH are really fast and good at what you do. Plenty of parking, bottle service and VIP is available. Every now and then Disco the picture man will be be in the building. All of this at a price that’s affordable. My lady and I went out drank and got a player to go and all in I THINK it was 45-60 bucks. Not bad...
Read moreNice place. Hugh dance floor. Passed on boiled crayfish. They were too small for this point in the season IMO. Purchased 1 beer. Wasn't as cold as prefer. I like my beer ice cold, like 33°. Had to wait for all the bartenders to get off the dance floor line dancing to get my beer. Lacked diversity. Not welcoming to men. Left after about an hour of line dance music & line dancing. It's a sad commentary on the state of socialization & male/female relationships in the Black community. There was a time when "Ladies Night" meant all the ladies came to the club with their girlfriends to dance, socialize, and meet men, not each other. Makes you long for the days of Kool & The Gang's, "Ladies Night". I'm all for female empowerment & Black Girl Power but not if it means the demise of the intersection of interpersonal gender relationships, family, wealth, and sovereignty of diaspora. At a time when DEI is under siege by extreme, hegemonic Western Cultural values, when our primary purpose & focus should be unity & solidarity, Black people are segregating themselves by gender. We have traded chattel slavery, for chattel freedom. (See Ezrah Aharone's, The Sovereign Psyche: Systems of Chattel Freedom Vs....
