FOOD POISONING WARNING On August 3rd 2021, I discovered this particular Chicken Salad Chick location. I was so excited, because many of their sandwiches/chicken salads, tasted just like my grandmother's chicken salad. She was known for making the best baby/wedding shower food. She passed away due to breast cancer, so, I was feeling like I had found a comfort food gold mine. I recommended Chicken Salad Chick to multiple people, especially family members. Fast forward to August 21st 2021. I decided to branch out and try their pimento cheese on croissant, and give their grape salad a try, as well. They went way overboard with the pimento cheese, to the point where, even before I had this bad experience with it, I wouldn't have recommended it. I dug into the grape salad without hesitation. After I ate a good bit of it, I began noticing that some of the grapes were spoiled, and had a fermented taste to them. This would have been detected sooner, but I believe the cream cheese was somewhat disguising it. Shortly after eating supper, I began feeling nauseous. I attempted to tidy up my house a bit, like I always do before bed, and as I was doing all of that, the nausea got to the point where I had to lie down on the couch. Not long after, I had to run to the bathroom to vomit. I was throwing up pimento cheese, and grape salad for over an hour! The vomiting was so violent, it woke my boyfriend from a dead sleep, even though he was across the hall in our bedroom, with the door shut, and a loud box fan running. I couldn't even take a sip of water, without vomiting more pimento cheese, and grape salad. Having to throw up, is already a terrible experience, but throwing up pimento cheese, and rotted grapes with cream cheese on them? By far the worst FOOD POISONING I have EVER, in my 36 years of existing, experienced. I've never experienced projectile vomiting, but it's real. It's painful. It's exhausting. A full 24 hours later, I was pale, shaky, had a terrible pain in my abdomen. It took days just to feel somewhat settled. It was a nightmare. Needless to say, I will never eat at this location again, and highly doubt I'll ever even eat at any Chicken Salad Chick location, it was that traumatic. I'm not sure if the pimento was bad, or not, all I know is that I wasn't a fan of it. I believe that fermented grapes mixed with dairy (cream cheese), created the perfect environment for bacteria. I hope that Chicken Salad Chick can find ways to prevent these sort of situations from occuring, but mostly I just wanted to warn all of you, proceed with caution. If I were you, I'd avoid the pimento cheese, and grape salad. Neither were worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreChicken Salad Chicks is so good and right on time for me. I love chicken salad and always got it from Chik-fil-a but when they stopped making it... I had to make it at home. Yes, I'm lazy and never made it. Lol but along came one of my favorite placed from when I lived in Atlanta. I was so excited. Apparently, so were a bunch of other people. It was packed opening week.
The Food The food is great. They have all different flavors of chicken salad. From original mix to spicy or even bbq. The balance across ingredients on each one is right on point. I always get The Chick which can put one of your scoops on bread or croissant, you can get a side or another scoop, and you can add a 3rd scoop for just $2 more. Worth it if you can't decide. The sides are pretty good. They were sold out of the Mac n' cheese, so I only had the Broccoli salad. It's really good, comes with bacon and cheese and some sort of very light mayo based dressing. My MIL loved the pickle that comes with it and I loved the cookie.
The Service Really good. I didn't expect any less from a new restaurant during grand opening. If you go inside, you're greated by a super nice senior that allows you to taste a number of flavors before you buy them. This is a scam you will like them all and be even more confused about what to get. Lol. You will probably spend more. They have a lot of teeny boopers behind the counter but they seemed ready to work. Great attitudes and knowledge about their products. They did a 2nd check of my food before bringing it and fixed it before it reached my hands.
Warning: They are so new and traffic hasn't died down a lot and as a business woman, I understand that it is probably impossible for the owners to determine how much inventory to keep so that nothing goes bad. Be prepared for them to potentially be out of something that you want in that first month of business.
The facility is brand new so it is definitely clean.
Lastly, if you see this place, it's a must try. They even make Turkey sandwiches for those that aren't big fans of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy first time inside Chicken Salad Chick today for lunch. I have to say I was very impressed! I had an original sandwich and it was very good. There were lots of choices on what kind of salads, different types of bread, even croissants! That's right up my alley, but you don't have to have bread. I just wanted to see what their classic meal was about. It could have had a little more chicken salad on the sandwich but for $8.99 I was happy. You get a side also. They have several to choose from. They have a soup of the day you can get too, which is what I got. Broccoli cheddar , and it was good. They give you plenty of crackers too . I'm always happy when I get a big pickle on the side, lol The place was clean and the customer service lady was very nice. I told her I was new and not sure what to get. She was kind and helpful. They gave me a little number for my table and I could go sit. They brought the food to me, and that's a plus to me. I did get a drink. I got a regular one, not a large. It was $2.19. But I will say that for $2.19, it was pretty large, but that's optional. So for $8.99+tax I got a chicken salad sandwich, soup, crackers, and even a cute little cookie. I went with my sister to the other chain place (that starts with Pan. ) a couple months ago and I paid for both. I got the same thing I bought here except Pan. gives you bread with your soup, not crackers. My bill was way over $40, nearly $50, but we did get a huge cinnamon roll, and 2 drinks. SOO, when I want chicken salad and soup again, it will be here. It's almost half the price. Has anyone been to McD. lately? I spent that much there and it was a burger and fries. Gone are the days of eating out for cheap. Im glad I came and can't wait to come back...
