Man I'm so mad about my experience with this restaurant. I have never wrote a review on anything in my life. But the fact that I have called the restaurant over and over again in the past hour or more and all I've gotten is a machine. I can't even get them on the phone to tell them how I feel about their service and food. My favorite type of restaurant is Mexican and I've never in my life have called a Mexican restaurant or went to a Mexican restaurant and ordered nacho fajitas and got what I've gotten today "which I mind you I ordered the exact same thing at every restaurant every time I order" and all my experience of all the times I've ordered these nachos I've never received shredded cheese instead of queso. It's a Mexican restaurant queso is the signature ingredient. And the fact that I received the very little shredded cheese not queso with very little chunks of me and it being shredded cheese by the time I got it it was cold and hard for the little I did have with long black hair stuck in it the experience has me so heated that I've never hated an actual restaurant the way I hate this place and the fact that I cannot get there on the phone makes me that much more mad. And I will continue to call until someone answers and when they do I'm going to get them a piece of my mind because they are a disgrace and not worth my 33 bucks that I spent and now I'm resorting spending money at a fast food restaurant to get a hamburger from McDonald's because they can get it right and if they mess it I can call them and they will answer the phone and fix the situation. If I could get this place zero Stars I would the fact that it forces me to give them one star makes me mad the worst absolutely the worst experience of a restaurant that I've ever experienced in my 30 years...

My family and I came here around 7pm last Sunday night and I ordered the carnitas. I woke up the next day in excruciating abdominal pain which turned into vomiting and diarrhea. The entire day I was sick as a dog running fever, constantly going back and forth to the bathroom, and ultimately became dehydrated as nothing stayed down. Around 8pm Monday night I ended up going to the ER where I was given antibiotics, medication, and fluids all to be diagnosed with food poisoning and I know it was from this restaurant because prior I had nothing else to eat after 8am Sunday morning. Thinking back, the pork was dry and did have a metallic taste so that further concludes the theory of where the food poisoning came from. I called this restaurant to advise what happened and I was told I needed to bring papers stating I had food poisoning so I did and it’s been over a week with zero response about what happened to me caused by this restaurant. A simple apology with empathy and well wishes would have done just fine as I wasn’t looking for compensation of any type, I just wanted accountability and an apology but couldn’t even get that. I will never come here again and I’ll make sure none of my friends or...

I went Los Tres on 5/26/19 after placing an order on Waitr. When I picked up my order I checked it and found they did not substitute the rice for the beans as I asked nor did they include the jalepenos I asked for. When I questioned the incredibly rude manager he said waitr didn’t charge you so we don’t include them. I inquired as to how I would know they were not charged and obviously I would pay for them because i wanted them and he shrugged becoming increasingly rude in his mannerisms toward me. I had to ask AGAIN for the jalepenos and asked how much they were and he said $1.50 I said I’ll take a double order. They went in the back and brought out a single order. I was now becoming annoyed and asked AGAIN for the double order and tossed my $5 on the bar to which the manager began berating ME for being rude, his words were “you don’t need to catch an attitude with me.” We then had a heated exchange, where I told him if he had any thing to do with the Pontchartrain location it’s no wonder they closed. He continued to be rude to me and finally walked away while I STILL waited for my second order of jalepenos.

So disgusted by his behavior and the customer service...

Great service and good margaritas but the food was a bit lacking. I'm from Southern California so I was raised on Mexican food and consider myself a pretty good judge of authenticity and accurate flavoring for Mexican food. Tortilla chips were good, pretty authentic which can be hard to find around here. Salsa was a bit bland but not bad. My husband had the enchiladas and they were actually pretty good, Ranchero sauce was flavored well. His meal was the highlight of the food. I had beef tacos and they were totally flavorless, the meat tasted unseasoned. The shells were not authentic and were pretty clearly store bought. My strawberry margarita was really good though, not too weak and not too sweet, just right. Our server was great and even though it was busy (it was Cinco de Mayo which we failed to actually realize until after we decided to go out for Mexican food--subconscious perhaps lol 🇲🇽). He was attentive and split his time between many tables well. The prices were fair enough. Los Tres Amigos wouldn't be my first choice for Mexican food in Slidell but I wouldn't say to avoid it, just average for the type of cuisine in this part of the country.

Stopped by on route to New Orleans, not bad. The food was better than I was expecting. The fajita was a tad overcooked and too chewy but overall, it's what you expect from any mexican restaurant north of Houston, with the exception of Chicago and LA of course. Tortillas were cold, shrimp had a funny aftertaste, chicken was good, beans and rice were okay but they were probably microwaved. The cheese inside the stuffed pepper was extremely runny, as if it was mixed with a cream or something. But if you're hungry from long hours on a road trip, good & affordable place to stop by if you're in the mood for something other than typical fast food. To those traveling from South Texas, sorry but this is NOT the place to ease your Taco Palenque craving.

I found this place by accident when I went shopping in Slidell. I have now eaten there a number of times. After moving from Austin TX I haven't found a really good Mexican restaurant until this one with a similar name (Tres Amigos) to one in Austin. The service was awesome. The tortilla chips were thin and crisp. The salsa was perfect. I order the burrito meal that comes with rice and frijoles each time I dine there. The atmosphere is charming and reminds me of the places that I eat at in Austin, San Marcos, and San Antonio. I believe this is a family run operation. Making even more desirable as they take pride in providing the best dining experience to their customers.
