Just ordered from the store on Pontchartrain. I have had very bad experiences with the Gause store in the past so I decided to give the Pontchartrain store a chance and to my shock they were even worse!! What I mean by this is that it was glaringly obvious that these were day-old donuts as in donuts from the previous day that have not been sold and were put back out because they were stone cold!! We are not talking cold, as in room temperature like a little bit chilly because they’ve been sitting out for a few minutes. They were so cold that they felt like they had literally just been taken out of the freezer!! I just paid over $21 for day-old, stone cold donuts!! This was the first time I ordered from this store and after today it is now the last!! If I’m being honest, I only ordered from this store, because I was stuck at home in a position where I could not leave. I can promise you that it was NOT because of their “stellar reputation”!! Normally I would choose either Jelly Donuts & Kolaches Of Slidell (absolute BEST!!!!!) or Tasty Cream Donuts. I find it interesting that the one five star review was from a local guide and they made it a point to say “I saw them taken out” almost as if they were trying to prove something. Either that or the place knew they were coming. At least that’s my...
Read moreThe worst. Went in for breakfast and asked for the sausage, egg and cheese "buscuit" (how it was spelled on the sign) and were told that it would take 5-10 minutes of which we were more than willing to wait. The cashier went to the back to "make sure they could do it" and then came back to tell us that the other people were counting money back there and she was only 15, so no one could make our breakfast. We then watched 3, yes 3, people walk out from the back. Not one of those people could have fried an egg and a sausage patty? I've never had such a blatant refusal of service for no reason. The poor girl seemed sufficiently sorry but the other 3 didn't look like they cared a bit. Get it together people, maybe hire someone who cares if you make a buck...
Read moreAfter eating Copeland's we wanted a very sweet treat! Also had a coupon for nearby locations and decided to step in this very very run-down looking gem!
The place is very old school dingy and not very appealing, however mixed with the tip sign that was absolutely hilarious and put me in a great mood that I was already in the donuts are phenomenal!
Sometimes it's not how things look but how things taste! I believe the owner's son was the one working the shift, very cool and gave me a lot of information about the doughnuts. These did not taste like your average franchise doughnuts from all those other big names. I definitely love the small-town feel with big flavor!
If I ever make it down this way again this is a definite stop,...
