The Magnolia Play Cafe — Local services in Slidell

I visited Magnolia Play Café today with my toddler for the first time, and overall, it was a lovely experience. The space was very clean, organized, and thoughtfully designed. My little one was immediately drawn in by the engaging play areas. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff member at the front desk was friendly and helpful in getting us registered since we didn’t have a reservation.

The play area itself felt safe, secure, and spacious, which allowed my toddler to explore freely and have a great time. I could tell a lot of care goes into maintaining the facility, and I really appreciated that.

I do want to share one moment that gave me pause. While a staff member was interacting with my child during play, she made a comment comparing him to a monkey while he was holding a play banana and climbing. “ Ohhhh, you have a banana? Ohhhh, you’re climbing like a little monkey with a banana?” I’m sure it may have been an innocent remark made in the moment, but as a parent of an African American toddler, it was uncomfortable to hear. I share this only as gentle feedback and a reminder of how certain phrases can carry different meanings depending on context.

The absolute cutest play place for 0-6 year olds! We had my son’s 1st birthday here last weekend, and it couldn't have been better. The owner, Nicole is fabulous and answers any and all questions in a quickly time manner. This place is so clean and so fun!! I love that there are places to sit all over inside play area for parents to be close by. There’s also delicious coffee/tea for you to enjoy while the kids play. With the birthday party, they decorated to my baby’s “ONE happy dude” theme and it was adorable!! As a parent, this was the least amount of stress for a birthday as they set up, help during the party, and clean up. We will 100% be back and have more...

This place is such a needed gift to parents with young children. The owners are wonderful and the staff is super friendly. It's a perfect place to detach and take mental break while still being available to watch your kids run around and play. Having a membership definitely comes in handy. You get unlimited play and 10% off for a party if you decide to have one. We had my son's 2 yr old birthday party here and it was phenomenal!!! I sent a picture to convey the theme and voilà!
