I called on a Tuesday and spoke with an individual in depth for about 30 minutes about what I wanted for my daughter’s Pokémon/pikachu cake. The person even asked if I wanted to give freelance liberty to the baker. I said oh yeah, I saw a turtle cake yall did and that’s why I called. So you would expect something. I even asked if they could send me examples and she said yes they’ve done other Pokémon cakes. I was told I would be contacted tomorrow, Wednesday to go over it more and pay. We had bad weather Wednesday and no one contacted me. Gave grace assuming they were probably busy. Thursday came and went, I finally called back and had to give someone new my information. Then she said she found the other person’s note. Which apparently only said pikachu on top and an edible poke ball. Yall I paid $70 for this(picture of what was tossed to follow. It was embarrassing, I cried the whole way home. When I went to pick it up, albeit 30 minutes early I had to wait for them to “put the finishing touches on it.” I did call on my way home and the manager couldn’t even muster up whatever they needed to, to come speak to me. I remained calm and asked did what I pay cover the “design” or was it just the cost of the cake? Couldn’t get an answer. Was told if I wanted the manager to contact me Monday she can. The cake itself was so dense, dry and you could smell the almond extract before you even cut into the cake. No one finished, embarrassed all over again when another mom recommended a different baker or even her friend who charged a little bit more but the cake was amazing. So it’s not so much about the money, I would have paid to have the cake I wanted....
Read moreI'm not really sure where to begin on this review but I think the pictures will speak for themselves. I ordered a personalized cake from Sugar Love for my anniversary, the cake was on the small side (6 inches wide). I had ordered small treats from them before (macaroons, cupcakes), all of which were very good and very aesthetically pleasing , and thought that they would do a good job at a cake. I sent them a picture of my wedding cake to imitate, my wedding cake was a drip cake. I thought that a drip cake would be easy, maybe it's not easy I've never made one before so I don't know, but the drip looked SO bad. The cake overall looks like someone was practicing on it. The lettering on the top of the cake is so poorly done, they don't even fit. The names written at the base of the cake looks like someone wrote them with a sharpie marker. Overall, I was very disappointed with this cake especially considering I paid $76.00 for it. At that price I would expect a higher quality versus a cake I would buy at a grocery store. The cake tasted good, I would have liked two filling layers on the inside since the filling alone was $10.00. For what it's worth, all of the employees that I interacted with were very nice and it is partially my fault for not speaking up. Maybe I should have been more specific about what I wanted and given them more picture examples. I would just suggest if you order a cake from them, don't go outside of the box, order something that they have done before or something that is very simple. Maybe they were rushing when they made mine or were overwhelmed with orders, I'm not sure what the...
Read moreSierra Milrose Dee Castro I’m canceling 5 1/2 weeks early. You have done NOTHING to start on it yet. Your reason for not refunding me is that you “ had to turn away orders”. That’s interesting, because quite a few people on google complain that they call a week ahead of time to place an order and you are so busy that you can’t take their order. That tells me you will certainly have another order to take my orders place. As far as the price, it’s for a 6 inch round cake on top of an 8 inch round cake. 150.00 is taking advantage of people. My mother was a baker for many years and never overcharged people like that. I’m a diabetic who will never be able to use a store credit. This cake was for my guests. I blame myself though. I should have read your negative reviews before I walked into your business and allowed myself to be rushed through the process by the girl behind the counter. She did NOT state that you don’t give refunds but yet again I suppose it’s my fault for not reading the paperwork I was rushed to sign. Congratulations, I guess you win. Apparently you will be keeping our money. Thank you for making this difficult time even more heartbreaking.
Beware! Once you place an order with them don’t try to cancel for any reason! They refused to refund me for my cake that was already paid for. I tried canceling 6 weeks ahead of time and was told I could only get a store credit. Now that I’ve had this experience I’m hearing it from other people as well. When I reorder for this occasion I will order elsewhere, and for...
