Brewology Cafe/Lounge — Restaurant in Smithfield

I recently moved back to town and began frequenting the main location of this establishment. The coffee is okay, but not out of this world. The price has ranged drastically for the same coffee order between visits, and locations. Which I guess depends on how the staff keys in the order in their system. It doesn’t make much sense, either way that a terribly made drink could cost between $8-11.43 on any given day. Since opening the gas station location, it’s been more convenient to grab a coffee with no wait and a speedy drive thru. Hardly anyone is ever ahead of me in line. Today’s experience warrants this review I think mainly because the staff needs a serious training on service and quality especially when it comes to food. I ordered 2 drinks and 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. The bagel was chewy, the sourdough with an up charge was rubbery and the eggs were GREEN in color and did not taste or look “freshly cracked” … the service employee running the drive thru was unfriendly in taking my order, and the tablet that charges my card is always shoved in my face at the tip screen. I normally tip cash, but I skipped tipping today.

The interaction between me and service today was:

“I’d like X coffee”

YUP

“I’d like X Latte”

YUP

“Id like 2 bacon egg and cheese with cheddar, 1 on an everything bagel and 1 on sourdough”

YUP. IS THAT IT?

“No that’s all thank you”

“PULL UP”

Ummmm ….. hire someone with customer etiquette if you’re going to have a minimum 18% service tip request on...

I went to get a coffee with a friend, I got a specialty latte the chocolate chip pancake flavor. I paid $7.00 for this coffee and it tasted absolutely horrendous. I took one sip and all I tasted was powder as if they added flour or something to give it that pancake feel. I could not even drink this coffee. I brought the coffee back up to the counter and asked if they would be able to just make me a simple iced coffee. The barista said there was nothing she could do if I wanted something different I would have to pay for another coffee. What?! That’s insane you expect me to keep this nasty coffee that’s going to go right into the trash for $7.00?! All I wanted was a simple iced coffee I could not drink this coffee it was disgusting. But still got told “too bad” pretty much. If you go here make sure you know what their speciality coffee taste like because if it’s disgusting like mines they won’t care and won’t bother to make you a good coffee. You’ll have to pay double...

Went to Brewology on a Friday night fur after dinner drinks for my partner and mine’s anniversary last night. I was terribly busy and seemed to have the crowd of any other normal bar. We sat down and it took the waitress 10 minutes to come and get our order. I order an original espresso martini but with decaf espresso, my partner order a chocolate martini with regular espresso. At this point a DJ started playing and for the size of this place it was insanely too loud. We finally got our drinks 12 minutes later (yes I took note because multiple people were served ahead of and multiple people walked and left right away). My espresso martini was disgusting espresso tasted burnt almost and you couldn’t even tell the difference between my martini and my partners.
