Black Box Ice Cream — Restaurant in Smyrna

I have to give a shout out to Black Box Ice Cream! The short of it, they are absolutely amazing and you NEED to go try them NOW! (Not literally now, they are closed for the night)

The long of it, they are 100% my absolute favorite ice cream spot! If you know me, you KNOW I love me some ice cream! They have I think 16 different flavors. Some of them are some of their original flavors that stay every day. Examples are- Vanilla, UBE, cookies and cream, strawberry cake batter, tangsicle and chocolate. I may be missing some. The other flavors are rotated every few days. You never know what flavor you will find any day. Today they had candy cane, sweet cream, carrot cake, egg nog, cinnamon honey cake ( I think) and I'm sure I'm missing some. If you see a flavor you love, you better get it. It may not be there the next day. Their ice cream is so creamy and smooth! I absolutely love the texture the ice cream is.

They also have cheesecake and let me tell you.... It is the best cheesecake I have EVER had! The first time we got it, I thought she gave us 4 slices. No it was just one. We were able to split it between 3 people.... I probably had most of it. The cheesecake is the perfect consistency. The crust is so yummy and the perfect amount of crunch, without being crunchy if that makes sense.

They also have shakes, cookies, muffins and other baked items they switch out every day. We have had some of all and LOVE them. Plus they are not just normal cookies or muffins, they have unique and original flavors. I had a shake for the first time tonight and added cookie crumbles (which are pieces of their waffle cone. It is also made in house and home made. The waffle cone has the perfect snap that they should have)

The first time I went into the store, I felt comfortable. The people there are always so nice and have a smile on their face. They are happy to help. The store is also 100% inclusive. Let me tell you in this climate, that is a nice sight to see.

I live closer to Nashville, but I made the drive out to Smyrna just to try their ice cream — and wow, it was absolutely worth it! Every single flavor was rich, creamy, and so unique — definitely not your typical ice cream shop. I was blown away by the variety, the quality ingredients, and the amazing customer service.

The best part? I didn’t even realize we were being served by the owner herself, Hollie, until the end — and she was fantastic! She welcomed us with a big smile, offered samples of all the flavors, and shared fun details about each one. Even while helping a crowd of happy customers, she made time to connect with everyone.

I also chatted with a few regulars, and they couldn’t stop raving about the place — and now I totally get why. It was such a fun, feel-good experience from start to finish. I’m seriously hoping (and crossing my fingers!) they open a location closer to Nashville! But if not, I'm telling all the ice cream lovers to take a chance with this place because they will not leave disappointed, especially if they try the UBE and Thai Tea...

Out of this world. Forget the major chains or your go to places for ice creams - make this your new go to. Not only is the shop super cute in a classic ice cream parlor feel, but the owners are super nice and make it feel like you're welcome any time.

Now, the flavors! They offer basic ones like vanilla and chocolate, however, by saying they're basic is an dishonor to the ice cream. The vanilla is made with three different types of vanilla! As a person who adamant against chocolate ice cream because it always tastes freezer burnt, theirs is phenomenal. It tastes almost like a smooth syrup into an ice cream.

I personally got Cinnamon Honey Rolls and fell in love. It is mouth watering and made me dance...good food makes you move. 😍

One child got Candy Cane and the other one got the dark chocolate - both of them were exceeding happy with their choices. The husband got Salted Caramel Latte and loved it too.

I don't think you can go wrong with any flavor. Just get over here and start trying to find your favorite! Oh, and they even have a kid's table for...
