This was my first time eating here. I saw all the good reviews and decided to give them a try. To be fair and honest I will say that I didnt have a bad experience. But it was fairly neutral. First I was greeted when I walked in. (At least I was greeted. Told you Id be fair) It was neither positive or negative. (So for that Ill give them a 2.5.) I took some time to go over the menu. I was hesitant to ask if they do white rice with peas, carrots and eggs probably because of the way I was greeted but anywho...I was hoping to get it my way but of course this isnt burger king or subway so I wont fault them for that. But Song Da wont get any points either. Another neutral transaction.( Ill give them another 2.5.) I decided on a large fried rice only to be dismayed that I would be charged extra for peas, carrots and eggs. Ive never ate at a chinese restaurant that charge for peas, carrots and eggs. Wait... yes I have. I still was a little salty about not being able to get my white rice. But its cool. Im not that much of a crab lol. (another 2.5.) It didnt take long to get my order (Ill give them a 4) which was a plus but upon opening my food I noticed that the rice was yellow. Maybe yellow rice is a middle tennessee thing. I dont know but Im use to brown fried rice where Im from. The lady who greeted me gave me 3 packs of soy sauce for a lrg fried rice. What am I going to do with 3 freaking packs? She didnt even bother to ask if I wanted Duck sauce. (So for that Im giving 2 stars) Finally I make it home to try this delicious chinese cuisine (fingers crossed) you google reviewers are raving about..The taste of my rice matched perfectly with the overall experience I had. Not bad not good. Rather bland... Maybe I could have spiced up the flavor had I had more soy sauce and duck sauce. But if you need soy and duck sauce to spruce up the flavor well (squinchy eye long pause)...ill give them a (2) not because the food was horrible, it wasnt. but because lets face it we want to find places to become repeat customers and having bland food just isnt going to cut the mustard. All in all I feel like I kinda just gave my money away. After adding up their total score they get a 2.58. This review is in no way meant to be negative towards this establishment just my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNew to Smyrna and on the hunt for my Chinese spot. I hope this isn't the best in town. ordered general tso's tofu and sesame tofu. The generals was zero spicy it tasted just like the sesame. The tofu was horrible! The outside was hard and rubbery and the inside was watery. After eating I was sick to my stomach like I ate heavy red meat. I ordered a side of general tos's sauce and received what I can only assume is Szechuan sauce.Ā I ordered veggies in garlic sauce. I wouldn't have ordered if I knew the tofu would come with so much broccoli. Usually it's just a few pieces. The veggie came with no garlic sauce and tasted like water they werent good at all. I also ordered veggie chow mein fun it was decent. Looked different than I've had at other restaurants but favor wasn't bad. Rounding the order with Spring rolls. They werent horrible but definitely nothing I'd run back for. Almost $50 was put into this order. And I was most upset, besides tofu, that I couldn't even get complementary fortune cookies...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSomewhat disappointed. Had several issues. First, we checked menu and prices on Postmates. Seemed reasonable at $6 something for a meat choice and rice, so we made the drive out. Once there we found out that price only covered the included white rice. āFried riceā was an additional $2 per plate. The bigger disappointment was that the āfried riceā was basically white rice with food coloring. Orange food coloring. No veggies no soy sauce and in no way resembled fried rice. Looked like Mexican rice and tasted like nothing. When questioned about the difference in prices from Postmates, we were informed that those prices are 5 years old and havenāt been updated. The beef broccoli and orange chicken were good enough and made fresh. Egg rolls included were also decent enough. I would however not agree with other reviews saying it was a lot of food for the price. And definitely save yourself the $2, and get...
