Wasn't sure what to expect going in, but I was willing to give it a try. Went on a relaxed date with my girlfriend and the first thing we noticed was that when we walked in, we had to tilt our heads to see the whole menu, because of the decorative awning at the counter. I'm not sure if it's supposed to look more Japanese, but it just strained our necks (she's 5'8, I'm 6'2). Even getting right up to the counter felt cramped. Then I noticed the drink cups they gave us looked like they were from a gas station. They were not from the restaurant. I didn't want to say anything negative to ruin the mood of the date, when she piped up about halfway through her noodles "So I think this will be a one time thing." Her noodles were overcooked, my sushi was nothing to write home about and we probably wouldn't have minded as much if we hadn't paid so much. Fast food pace? Maybe (service was actually slow) but not a fast food price despite fast food quality. Lastly, this location used to be a Jack in the Box before it closed roughly 10 years ago if my memory serves me. It's been sitting empty since, but walking in roughly a decade later felt like I walked into the same Jack in the Box with some minor decor changes. They didn't seem to have changed some of the booths in the middle of the store. So, non-uniform cups, given by non-uniformed employees (one person was actually wearing a uniform from another sushi place), in a non-uniform restaurant, to have overpriced food that can be best described as edible. It pains me to leave a review this harsh, but the only reason I even gave it two stars is because they did just open recently. But if this is the pace they've set at the starting line, the finish line can't...
Read moreCHECK YOUR FOOD!! HEALTH ADVISORY! My family and I ordered take out and picked it up close to closing. Drove home .. got ready to eat and first realized they forgot my shrimp (ordered a hibachi shrimp , chicken, steak), then i seen a dead bug in my rice! Ofc i pick it up and look at it and take pictures. I go to call and they are closed. I throw the food away because that is vile and absolutely unacceptable. I took pictures of the food and my receipt to show them the next day. They tried to say "I never seen that bug in my life. If it was in the rice it would be dead." Mind you the bug is dead in the picture. It was initially on top of my rice, meaning they seen it and closed the top. They denied it and asked for the food and i simple said i threw it away but have pictures. I asked for a refund and they asked for the food and said they will not do anything without the food. The food was disposed of as it should've been and I was told if it was a problem, I should have closed the bag and kept it over night. The disgust that filled me is...
Read moreMy husband and I were passing through town and saw this place and decided to try it due to it being not busy, and with a drive thru. I am so glad we did! The food was spectacular! Best fried rice I've ever had and that's saying something because I've had a lot of fried rice but something about their fries rice made it stand out. They don't put onions and carrots or peas on their fried rice!!! That's an absolute win because I hate veggies in my rice and the oil it's fried in is chefs kiss perfection! They have other dishes as well but I got the fried rice and the sesame chicken and it was phenomenal! Hit my taste buds just right and everything was super fresh and hot when we got it. I don't understand why this place didn't have a line wrapped around the building but there was no line at all when we arrived and we only waited about 5 minutes for our food. Highly recommend this delicious Japanese style...
