Mi Cancun Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Smyrna

I don’t normally give reviews but I felt led to. The service royally sucks. We sat there over 30 min on a Tuesday night waiting on our food and our waiter didn’t even bother to check with us to see if we needed anything or to even bring us more salsa and chips. Then the manager came over to ask if we were ok and I said well we haven’t gotten our food yet… then he proceeded to say that the kitchen has a big to go order… this screams poor service! So I then asked if we could at least get more chips and salsa so he said yes and brought some more. My thing is the waiter didn’t even come and check on us that was the most upsetting part. We sat there just looking around… I would have been ok if someone, just out of courtesy just explained that the food was taking longer than expected and to just at least replenish our items. Then when you leave a “bad” tip people judge and then they frown and cast judgments. Like come on man! As a waiter and waitress tips is what you all depend on or for a better way of putting it, is a big factor in making your job worthwhile . I am definitely an individual that tips based on my experience and I was truly disappointed! If you want good food then you can go here… I’m not sure if they are selective with who they give good service to but I know mine sucked the times I’ve been here. This comment is based on my last experience here though. People don’t understand that communication is key! People will get frustrated waiting but they get even more upset when the people don’t pay attention or show they care. By the way food came to $42 and some change before tip for a party of 2 that ordered house margarita, two beers (happy hour) and two plates of food (w/ chicken). If the manager sees this I do hope you at least let your staff know. My family and I have been to Mi Cancun about 15 times or so over in the past year . I came the first time to have dinner and the beans were over salted the rice was dry and my chimichanga was frozen no fresh! (and it tasted freezer burned!) The service was not very good! The waitress kept forgetting our order and came to our table 3 times with other peoples food! I gave them a second chance a couple of weeks later and had almost the same experience. I swore I would never go back but my fiance and kids love the karaoke on Saturday nights. I have eaten there a three times since my last experience and I have had to send my food back to the kitchen due to it being inedible! My sour cream was spoiled!!!! BAD! WARM!!! This happened on all three occasions!!!! The only good things I have heard from friends and family about this restaurant is they have great margarita's... I don't drink so I don't know about that. But I do know they don't really care for the food or the service either however they over look it because of the booze...lol All I know is if they did not have karaoke we would not ever come back! Watch your receipt. This place will scam you. First not familiar with the place I just randomly picked it from uber eats. I put in notes to not forget lines as they did before. They went in after my order was confirmed and charged me an extra two dollars for something that is already included. Another time we went to dine in and they automatically charged us gratuity when they only do it for 5+ parties. It was an extra 16 dollars in gratuity. It was just two of us. The guy removed it but it should have never happened. He acted like it was a mistake. Assuming it was just a mistake we went again but for pick up through door dash and they randomly charged an extra 23 dollars on top of our order while we were sitting in the car waiting to go in.
